So there is this one black cat that I feed. She would run away anytime she sees me, so I assume she was feral. And she comes after the sun comes down, around 9 or 11 pm.
Then last week I caught her (I think it was her, unless it was another black cat..) to be sterilized.
She was really nervous in the trap.... But then I realized she was super friendly, purring, rolling over to be pet, grooming herself in the trap, meowing, eating, drinking...I guess she is someone's pet ? Plus, she is very clean and looks healthy.
BUT she eats so so much ! I leave a feeder out and since She comes to eat, she would empty the feeder very quickly...
Could she be a stray ?

My first thought is that she is going into heat (female cats get very friendly when they are in heat) or pregnant (pregnant cats eat more food for their babies).
Did you take her to get sterilized (in the USA we say "spayed")? Certainly the vet would be able to tell if the cat was pregnant.
Feral cats generally are very clean: they have to be to keep predators away. Predators go by smell; if they can't smell a cat, there is less chance the cat will be attacked.
I'd keep on feeding her, maybe ask around your neighborhood if any one has a cat that has gone missing.

I hope you did get her spayed.  Even if she IS someone's pet, they are not feeding her enough or she wouldn't be eating at your house, and she doesn't need to have kittens.  She may have been abandoned.  it happens a lot around here, people feed an outside cat and do nothing else for it, then move away and leave it behind.  (Red Top Rescue was started for just that reason!)  The cats are already friendly and used to being fed, so they take up with the next soft hearted person who will feed them, then they have babies, and people put up Free Kittens signs, and I feel compelled to try to work with them to get the kittens placed in safe homes after vaccination and worming, and then mama gets spayed at the inexpensive mobile clinic.  This is the first year in several that there's another Free Kitten sign up in this neighborhood.  The friendly male cats I've neutered that obviously did have homes usually don't come back as they are no longer interested in breeding.  The ones I haven't caught yet come back year after year in the spring, looking for love.  The females don't ever come here on their own.

The way I see it, if I'm not part of the solution, I'm part of the problem, so I do what I can do.  We can all do a little bit.

Totally agree with RedTopRescue....even if she was owned, she wasn't being given enough to eat & it sounds as though she was/is in heat! Hope you did get her spayed!!!! Let us know!

Yes of course she was spayed :). I thought too if she had an owner, he/she was not responsible for letting her be super hungry.
Her coat is soft and shiny and she is very friendly, I think she has a home. The owner must have been surprise to see the kitty come back with a shaved belly and an ear clipped..!
