This is my cats first litter, things have been fine up till yesterday, when the one kitten started acting odd. It's unable to walk because it's head is falling over or it falls over. I'm taking it to the vet as soon as I can today. But I'm wondering if anyone has an ideas on what could be wrong? We are having to give it water in a bottle along with cat milk. We've gotten it to eat some canned cat food also. It's only 4 weeks old & 2 days. It's sibling kitten is doing just fine. So any info would be great!!

Are you saying that before yesterday it was walking normally? What comes to mind is cerebellar hypoplasia but this is generally present in birth in cats and would not just randomly show up at 4 weeks. The suddenly not eating as much is also quite alarming.

Please do get kitty to the vet ASAP.

Thank you :) We took mommy and babies to our vet. The little baby had fluid on her brain and was going to make it. We had her put down. It was heartbreaking news to find out and to have to do. But she's not suffering now. The other kitten is healthy and fine.

It what was best for her. No animal should have to suffer. I'm just glad she had a good little life while she could.

We are sorry your lost one of your kittens. You might want to post a memorial to her at our Bridge Forum http://www.thecatsite.com/f/19/crossing-the-bridge

Please keep us updated on your mama cat and her healthy kitten in this thread.

Thank you :) Alice (mommy cat) goes to be spayed next week & to get her shot. Our vet went ahead and wormed our healthy kitten Gizmo. I'll keep you updated on how Alice's surgery goes & on little Gizmo.
