For the past week my cat has been slobbering alot. It's mouth and chest are covered in slobber. He has always been a very sweet and playful cat, but now not so much. He's up to date on all his shots and he has his rabies shots to. Any help I could get will be great!

So he's just started drooling a lot when before he never drooled?
I wonder if he got into a plant or something. Is he going outside unsupervised at all?

He's an outside cat.

I would bet he has a bad tooth or some soreness/inflammation. He needs his teeth and gums examined very well.

If not at the vet then at least know what to look for.

Swelling on the gums, usually around a specific tooth, redness and irritation, or an obvious chipped/broken tooth.

Will the tooth just fall out if not taken care of. Or will it just get worse?

That's hard to say, but think about a cat's teeth just like a human's teeth. They get toothaches, abcesses, gum swelling, rotten teeth, broken, infected, receding gums, gingivitis, plaque, all of it.

Imagine how much a toothache can hurt you, just about unbearable. Cats are no different.

He will start losing weight, it's awful for him to have to suffer.

It's hurting him badly already if he is drooling.

Try to find a way to get him seen okay?

In addition to maybe being a tooth, he could have something stuck in his mouth. Some kind of sharp plant sticker. Or, he could have been bitten by something. I agree with everyone else, you need to find a way to get him to a vet.

If you can't afford it, do you know someone who takes their animals to a vet nearby? Perhaps they could arrange for you to go to their vet and make payments to them. Try anything you can think of, and let us know what the outcome is, please.

Sorry I haven't gotten back. So I looked inside his mouth and there's no sign of infection anywhere.
No redness, no swelling, nothing. It's all normal. Just a lot of stinky slobber. I don't understand it.
Why would he have stinky slobber if he does not have a infection?

Sometimes infections aren't obvious to the naked and untrained eye, especially if they're not too far progressed. Pungent breath is a good indicator that something is wrong - visual signs will usually follow, but it's best to have your cat seen by a vet before it gets worse. Slobbering all over himself alone isn't a good sign, not to mention hugely inconvenient and unpleasant for him and you, and if it's been going on for a week, I would say the cat needs vet care as soon as you can squeeze yourself into an appointment.

The ONLY reason for drooling suddenly is nausea or oral pain.

 Period basically.

Despite not seeing anything obvious, I still strongly believe he has an issue/infection and is suffering.

Why not find a local rescue group to help get your cat examined at a lower cost vet that they use?

I do it all the time for people, it's about the cats.

Instead of questioning why she is slobbering or drooling, can't you just take your cat to the vet?

Your cat maybe nauseous from pain in the mouth causing it to drool. Your best bet is for a vet to examine your cat.

Look inside for any obnormal coloring. Pandora was doing that and when I took her to that quack I told you about earlier, her tooth fell out. He sent off a biopsy and it was mouth cancer, which later I found out was easily treatable but he killed her with his treatment - I've had my doubts every since as to whether or not she even had cancer at all! Hindsite........
