Nov 2 was the day where the cat welfare society of singapore held a huge event with other active animal groups in conjuction of world animal day. It was my first huge event and my first volunteer job. Something that made me really proud of myself cos I have finally took the first step to do something for the cats in singapore.

the event was huge with lots of animal groups like the ones for dogs, rabbits, wildlife of singapore, the green volunteers, for the dolphins and even for the sharks. despite the lack of publicity, people came and the cat welfare society managed to sell a lot of merchandise. The animal origami that we had made during our spare time also sold well. In fact, we had so many animal origami that we could keep for the next year! All the money that we have made during this carnival at the cat welfare booth will go into neutering the cats, fostering cats and all.

At the end of it, after 10 hours of standing underneath the hot sun and bearing the heat, we have made a total of over S$2000 dollars.
Not bad for something that was not publicised at all... well, all for the good cause of our kitties.

i only have one complaint... i need better shoes to stand on my two feet for ten whole hours.

Hey Yayi,

it's not tough doing animal origami but it takes sometime to go through the instructions and get it correct. after that, it's pretty much ok.
