What is your pet peeve?

I always say that my pet peeve is people chewing loudly or with their mouth open.  The noise is just so irritating to me!  My poor husband knows; sometimes I'll just look at him and he knows...  Poor him.  He's not even doing it on purpose or sitting there with his mouth open but the noise will still get me sometimes.

Bad grammar/punctuation/spelling/etc. Especially misplaced apostrophes. Ugh. I know I shouldn't be so bothered by it but it just makes me crazy. The way people talk doesn't bother me too much; I'm fine with colloquial speech and slang, but in writing I find errors to be so distracting.

LOL.

Mine is rudeness...and noise. (l could make a list, but these are at the top).

People are becoming more and more outwardly rude to one another. l'm tired of the constant competitive one-upmanship of everything from conversation to driving. lt's appropriate in the workplace for efficiency's sake, but l'd like it shut off in daily life.

Mine would be rudeness also.  I too think that rude behavior has become much more common.  I am talking about just common courtesy not Emily Post etiquette rules.

The moment I saw this question I thought of exactly what Mooch said.. People who constantly chew with their mouths open.

Whether they're eating a meal or chewing gum, it gives me the willies.

Ugh, all of the above! And tardiness. I would sooner be 45 minutes early than 30 seconds late - can't stand latecomers.

Repetitive noises, like when people constantly tap on the steering wheel when they drive. It drives me nuts.

My happy place.
I agree with Pinkdagger it has to be lateness. Also another one that gets me is when people don't indicate when driving. It's so annoying especially when your waiting at a roundabout.

Yes!  And impatience.  One day recently a woman behind me in the check out line of a grocery store was SO impatient to get her things rung up at the register, I could feel her stomach resting on my behind.  I was floored.  And she kept doing it as the line would move up.  And the CEO of Levi's says I should wash my jeans less often!  I don't know what else that stomach was on!

Speaking of impatience, so it really isn't 2 pet peeves, tourists who think that I should fall at their feet because they've come to visit this island.  Um, not so much.  That doesn't mean you should not obey traffic laws and try to take the bumper of my vehicle off and you don't get to jump in line at the register because you're late for the beach.  The beach will still be there even 5 minutes later.

Drivers who insist on driving in the passing lane. If you're going to be in the passing lane, then pass! The passing lane is not for driving. Either pass or move over so I can.

Oh so many..

1. Open mouth gum chewing.. YOU ARE NOT A COW!
2. Those who like to sing along to their headphones at work. SHADDAP!
3. Those who thinks it's OK to stand 2 inches behind me on a line.. You aren't going to make the line go faster by getting in my personal space! I actually "Accidentally" Step on their feet when moving backwards.
4. Those who clearly have over 12 items in the 12 items or less line. I tell them off. every time.
5. Idiot drivers.
6. Slow people when I am in a rush!
7. Teenaged cashiers who don't care and would rather be tweeting in their phones than servicing my checkouts.

I can go on!

Oh, I totally forgot slow people. I tend to be a very fast walker normally, so people in my way is the worst! Or.. the people I'm with being slow walkers. I try to slow down when I'm with slower people, but I can't help but get back to normal speed. Every Tuesday, I meet up with a classmate and he complains all day that I walk too fast. *sigh*

Oh my, quite a few:

1) People who park outside yellow boxes. You're not special. The yellow box is drawn for a reason. There was this vehicle in my apartment lot who is always parking outside the box. One day I wrote on a paper with a Sharpie, "PARK *INSIDE* THE YELLOW BOX. IT IS THERE FOR A REASON." and put it on their windshield. Never saw that car after that. Odd.

2) People who email me with no punctuation, capitalization or paragraphing. I'm not reading that crap.

3) "It's just a cat."

4) Entitled college kids who think the world should stop at their feet when they cross the road, eyes glued to their iPhones and earphones stuck in their entitled ears.

5) That family who brings takeout containers to buffets and stuff as much as they can into those so they can bring the buffet back to their extended family.

6) People who use "literally" without having a clue what it means.

This should be expanded - elementary/middle/high school kids are like this too nowadays. :( People should be taking tips from CK Louis (video).

Oh my. Everything said above but I do get patient with people in the line at the supermarket who are super slow or chat with the cashier or the cashier being super slow.
I'm guilty of eriying text mainly without caps as I use my phone and it's a pain.
I don't chew gum. Yuk. School children in the mall screaming and shouting and getting under foot. I'm guilty of shouting at them to move or to shut up.
To be honest I'd rather the streets etc were free of people when I go out.
I'm a VERY impatient person. Hard to live with.

People who park in parent and child spaces when they clearly DONT have kids!!!!
That bugs me too. I hate when I see people park in those spaces and they have a car seat in their car but their kid is not with them. I have a toddler and I'm pregnant so we definitely like to take advantage of those spots when we can.
