How does the mom teach them to go potty?
Can someone walk me through stimulating bowels? We have Wally and hid tummy feels full to me.
I WANT to feed him but his tummy feels a bit bloated.
He really looks bigger than 3 weeks. I would say 4 weeks for sure.

Can you remind me of the milk good for them? Would it help him move his bowels?

Are you thinking on goat milk?     Otherwise, I dont know about milks used for moving bowels.  What is done with kmr, is to dilute it  a little more.  Say isntead of the usual 1:2, be it 1:3....

Also, having 3-4 drops of olive oil or rapeseed oil (canole?) oil with the kmr, usually helps.   If he has mom and dont use kmr, you can surely give some oil orally, with a dropper.   Corner of the mouth, tummy down.

Minerale oil is even more efficient, but begin with olive / rapeseed oil.

There are also the trick of stimulating, having his bum under running warm water, and tapping his behind parts, genitalia area,  with a forefinger.

The warm water works both stimulating and sort of massaging, and lessening the tensions... Like warm bath do also with people.

Do it of course somewhere when there is no draft, warm, and dry off afterwards.

Good luck!

KMR is what I was thinking of. Where can I find a medicine dropper?
I feel dried poo on his tail. I am not sure if it was before or after we got him.

No mom. We have 3 older kittens but they are getting use to him. Ana...
The one who looks the most like him, seems to be trying to befriend him. Ana is on my lap right now. Ana NEVER just sits in our laps... Ever!

Surely at the apothece /pharmacia...  But it doesnt not to be any scientific gear.  Almost any dropper will do, as long as you do see how many drops flows down.  Just  clean it.

Ask your neigbours, surely some has one and can borrow you.  Or give away...  Tell them you need it to help your little kitten, so they will feel compelled to help you.  Even if they usually dont talk with you.

Most pharmacies will give you dosing syringes (different from a regular syringe in that you can't attach a needle). I find they get REALLY weird when you walk in off the street asking for syringes. I've had a couple people tell me it's because of IV drug users, so I always ask for a 1ML dosing syringe, that way they know I'm not trying to use a needle. I always follow it up with "because I'm feeding newborn kittens" and then they usually give me a handful of them. LOL For larger syringes I get them from my vet. When feeding with syringes always make sure the plunger is good. There should be no friction when depressing it because the slightest slip could cause aspiration.

I personally don't like droppers. I find I don't have the same control as a syringe, and it's hard to measure the correct dose. And at 4 weeks you'll be there a day with a dropper so you're going to need a big syringe because he'll be eating 100mls per pound per day. He should be close to a pound, and split up between 6/8 feedings that's 13-33mls per feeding. I would suggest trying a bottle. He may or may not take it at his age, but it will be way easier than a syringe or dropper! I like the petco brand best. Don't waste your money on the hartz brand from Walmart. The nipples are atifd plastic and I've never had a kitten take them.

Useful tips by SuperPooper.  Its surely true, feeding with a dropper at 3+ weeks is lotsa work.
I didnt react, I though it was for extras.  Say, if you by any reason not have this extra oil for get going bowel movements with the kmr, you can give the oil with a dropper.

also, most people do have a dropper somewhere in the house. Not all do have a dosage syringe - which also should be in good condition, as you mentioned.

Ohhhhhhh.... you meant give the oil with a dropper, not feed him with a dropper. Gotcha. That makes more sense. I was thinking that baby's gunna eat a lot to be fed with a dropper! LOL. My bad.

Well he has pooped three times!! Twice in the litter box and once on hubby's side of the bed today. Pretty runny today.

Could it be from switching brands of food? We couldn't find the brand she bought for kittens. So we just got the pate and mixed with a little water.

DOING GREAT!!

He has three "momma" cats teaching him stuff. I caught him and Ana playing today. Mew and the other two often clean him. I have found any accidents and see him go into the pellet potty a lot.
He is eating kibble and drinking water like the big girls. He still loves his wet food ;)

How's he doing?

How do bigger kittens get their mothering instincts if they have never given birth?
All three "big kittens" mother Wally. Cleaning him, especially his bum and facial area. Playing with him, but much softer than they play with each other. None are fixed yet... happening soon but none have ever been pregnant either.

Anyone know how they get the mothering instinct?

Thanks in advance!
