Interesting about the fat content.   Does anyone have any idea what the percentage fat this is?

Crude Fat (g/1000 kcal)    52.7

I am not sure what those figures are that you posted in your question......I just go to the internet, go into the manufactuers website, click and open the particular food and see what their fat, carb and protein  percentages are.  That is listed on all the mfg. sites, if you dig thru.

We need to have the full guaranteed analysis on the food, including the moisture content.

Actually, Therese, the guaranteed analysis does not accurately portray the contents of the food when comparing between brands. This is because of the water content. This article explains: http://www.thecatsite.com/a/how-to-compare-cat-foods-calculate-carbs-dry-matter-basis

As an example, Wellness chicken (wet), with a guaranteed analysis of

Protein 10%
Fat 5%
Fiber 1%
Ash 1.95%
Moisture 78%

http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/product-details.aspx?pet=cat&pid=2#guaranteed-analysis

when adjusted for the moisture content, contains

Protein 45.5%
Fat 22.7%
Fiber 4.6%
Ash 8.9%

Thanks so much, I will definitely check this out.  I seem to remember my cat doctor saying something like what you just said re: you can't just go with the numbers ' on the bag or can."

Nope. Do they have the guaranteed analysis on the can? I can't find it anywhere, actually.

It should look like this:

Guaranteed Analysis

Protein 10%
Fat 9%
Fiber 2%
Ash 2%
Moisture 77%

It indicates the percentage of each macronutrient content on a weight basis of the total, but including the moisture. The table above indicates the weight contribution on an energy basis.

No official diagnosis with Tim, but mentioned as a possibility by several vets. He's doing very well right now and my only concern at the present time is whether we can successfully get him off cisapride, a dependency-forming constipation medication he was put on a year ago.

Tim eats primarily Nature's Variety Instinct canned rabbit. On rotating days, I add approximately one ounce of NVI LID turkey and Lotus Just Juicy turkey and pork for some variety. So he'll eat rabbit and one other brand/flavor. On a daily basis, Tim takes Proviable DC and 1/4 capsule of psyllium, both prescribed by our holistic veterinarian. The probiotic is to help his digestion and the psyllium is to encourage him to poop as we wean him off cisapride. Tim also takes slippery elm bark powder several times a week to help his digestion. As we further reduce his cisapride dose, we will increase the slippery elm. For both the psyllium and slippery elm, I mix with A LOT of water, especially the psyllium, so it does not have the opposite effect and plug him up. He took 1/4 Pepcid AC for a while, but he hasn't needed this in well over a month.

Improvements I've seen include a huge reduction in up-chucked hairballs, drastic reduction in vomiting, more energy, smaller and less stinky poops, fewer instances of soft poops (we regularly had to clean this guy after he got out of the litter box), silky and shiny coat, less chewing (I've learned he chews when he doesn't feel good), and a generally more social cat.

Once Tim is off cisapride, we are going to slowly transition to raw, as he still shows some signs of sensitivity. The slippery elm bark is helping with this, however. We can't transition yet because the holistic vet is concerned raw will move through him too quickly while he's on cisapride. We saw this ourselves when we tried feeding him some raw, so will follow her advice regarding timing and transitioning.

I tried raw without any success.he loved the raw pork, and chocken..but it didnt make any difference...still had loose smelly stools with blood...he was biopsied...and he has mild thickening in the intestine...so after trying raw with many premixes...for at least 5 months .i figured the problem was the premix which contained chicken liver and chicken doesnt work for my cat...so then i went back to canned but they didnt work...no grain made no difference....finally i tried royal canin hypoallergenic canned which is basically duck and pea,,,with some omega...and BINGO....solid stools...no smell...no blood...couldnt belive it...as i hate presctription diet food....prblem is after 2 weeks hes tired of the food and wants change :/ i was surprised raw didnt do the trick...i tried all difeerent types of raw...but withou the prenix he wouldnt eat it...tried tc feline premix which doesnt have chicken but he didnt like it...so long story ,....short...hes back on precription royal canin...at l least his poops are normal...for the first time in 1 and half years

My sons cat was diagnosed with IBD several years ago. the vet had her on several medications, but i dont know what. and i think they tried most prescription and non prescription food, wet and dry. The only thing that works for her, and has for a few years now is Fancy feast classics. She gets a can in the am, a can in the pm, then occasionally they will split a can between the cats for a night time snack. She is off all meds now, and doing very well on the Fancy feast classics. They work for her. and its something the other 3 cats like as well, so this is all they feed their bunch.
