Happy weekend everyone!

How have your cats changed over the years? Personality, habits, preferences, etc?

My cat used to get overstimulated very easily. He didn't like being petted for long, and he'd tolerate it for a few seconds before he started getting nippy. Now, 8 months later, I can pet him for as long as I like and he'll be purring the whole time.

He used to follow me from room to room in the first couple of months. He hasn't done that in a while, and I miss that.
It could be that he's more comfortable with his territory now that he doesn't feel the need to be clingy with me.

When my cat Berbol was younger, whenever  came home from school he was sleeping on his favourite chair and when he saw me he would do this high-pitched greeting purr. It was so cute when he did that. But now he stopped. Also, he stopped going to the litterbox and preferred to go outside instead. The last change is that his playfullness went down alot when he was about 5 years old, but went back up now at 7/8 :D ( thats when we got Kiki)

I cant wait to see what others' cats did

My cats haven't changed much, but yeah they do get on "kicks" and start sleeping in different areas for a while.

Gadget still gets overstimulated easily, but to be honest it's not something I've worked on in quite some time.  They still follow me from room to room, but I think it's more out of nosiness.

I kind of hoped that Mason would grow out of some of his nosiness, but just the other day when Ramen noodles were on sale and I had a hankering, he opened several bags and drug them all over my kitchen.  I finally got a friend to put a latch on my pantry door so he can't open it now.  The friend laughed over me putting a box of drill bits in the microwave.  It's because literally in seconds that thief Mason will make off with some of them.  It's funny and frustrating all at the same time.

Julie is still kind of "off" but more friendly as she's gotten a little older.  At least she panics in one spot now, like if I have a plumber coming she'll stay frozen on the cat tree while I put the boys in a room and then I can get her.  Before she would claw me to pieces.  I guess over time she realized that me putting the others up actually benefited her?  I'd love to get her to be more social but I just don't have people at my house much and I always worry about them getting out.  Oh well, I'll just have a crazy cat.

Mogli has gotten more vocal. He barely made a sound when we got him at 9 months, but now that he's almost 2 he's got a lot to say. He also chews less than he used to.

Oliver used to follow me everywhere also. I'm glad he's eased up on that. I like having some privacy now and then, even from my cat. He allows me to clip his nails mostly without issue now, though he will still try to flip his paw under himself or use his head to block me. But he doesn't take off running or try to bite or scratch me. He also sleeps up by my head now, instead of in the crook of my knees. Otherwise, he's pretty much the same. Still a scaredy cat.

Noodles has become more of a love-bug the last year.  When I brought these 2 home; she was the first to climb in my lap and curl up for a nap.  At one point I used to surf TCS with both in my lap.  But it was Mooch who ruled my lap after a while. Any time I would sit down; Mooch would have to be on me.  And she still pretty much is that way; as long as my kiddos aren't in the room.  I fall asleep on the couch with them most every night.  Noodles spent a few years keeping to my feet.  But now she likes to be on the back of the couch behind me.  She might spend a few minutes closer looking for love; but then she settles there for a snooze.

Our cat was a very scared kitty when she showed up on the porch as a stray/feral. We had to put gloves on to handle her. Now she is in my lap the minute I sit down.

Blighty came to me straight from the street. Terrified and tiny. He was roughly 2 months old. A year later he's a great lump who likes to sleep. Loves whisky. Demands strokes be squeaking. He doesn't meow
Is not s lap cat :sigh:
And is still a scaredy cat

Whisky an abandoned siamese came to may age roughly 8 months. Very disturbed. Didn't behave like a siamese and didn't play much. When blighty turned up he began to change. He 'mothered' blighty also a male but also taught him whose boss. Now he's a siamese. Noisy and into everything
He likes baking flour!

Tony has been a sweetheart for the 13 years we have had him. He's a big coward, but has a heart of gold and wouldn't hurt a fly.

Angel has gotten a lot more sure of herself - we call her our Ange/Devil, depending on her mood. She has a set mind and occasionally a temper --- we now call her "Rosemary's Baby".

Tippytoes is just a love - she's super attached to me and I guess she remembers I rescued her from the back of our house and the woods. She hates Angel (and Angel hates her), but she is best of friends with Tony. When she first came to live with us she didn't know how to "play" but quickly learned. Now she thinks she owns the whole house - especially our bed!
