When she threw up yesterday, did she get the meds with water again? Or were they whole pills?
Meds mixed in that liquid molasses brown gunk, crushed pill and a little bit of water.

Today she hasn't had any meds and she has been doing really good. Has been eating regulary and keeping everything down. Then just a little while ago she thew up a tiny bit of foam and no food. Wondering if it was a hair ball or if her throat is still irritated from the fact she threw up and gagged on that stupid tube the other day :(  The vet said her throat could be sensitive for a little bit because of all that happening. She has eaten since that happened. Actually not that long after it happened. She also had a BM and it was not diarrhea and it was not hard. It was actually the most normal BM I have seen her have in quite some time now.

Is the syrup part of her medicine?  I am wondering if that is what is causing the issues.  I know some cats are difficult to pill but she seems to have an extreme reaction to meds.

It's what they crush and put the pills in so you can syringe it into the mouth to make it easier for them taste wise.... although its definitely not. I actually got some on my finger and didn't realize it and the syrup to me makes no difference because it was very bitter.

What happens with the pills is getting her to swallow it before she tastes it. Otherwise like the liquid meds she starts to foam and spit at the mouth. Sometimes not getting any meds into her or her throwing up. I think the taste of any of them is what makes her sick. But what can you really do for that.

I also wonder if the syrup and/or crushed meds may be the problem.

Sebastian also foams at the mouth profusely if any meds go in "unmasked." That is why I put everything in empty gel caps and coat with organic coconut oil (or you can use a little butter). As long as he can't taste the meds, he's fine with me pilling him. Is this something you could try with Sabbath?

I remember the marin was a large gel cap and it was hard to get into the back of her throat. I remember one time she even bit into the gel cap and it was another pill giving disaster.

I attempted her meds again this morning and once again she threw them up. I noticed she is no longer making attempts to go to the food bowl on her own. I have to bring it to her and then she sometimes will eat and sometimes won't. My own health is starting to go downhill as well. There are days I forget to even eat or take my own meds because of all of this.

The problem is we are all cashed out. We are even debating if we can afford to bring her in for more blood work for her 2 week check up today. My gut feeling is that she is going to slowly go back to what she was before and if that is the case we will have to put her down :(

We brought Sabbath back into the vet for the 2 week check up. She stopped eating on her own and she had a few more vomit issues out of nowhere. She barely fussed or meowed on the way to the vet and I knew that was not a good sign. They ran her blood work and her levels were back on the rise. We made the decision that it was time to let her go. They vet told us they could put her on the steroid shot but it would most likely only make her comfortable until things got worse again. I just could not do that to her.

I thought making the decision to have surgery on myself was the hardest decision I ever made. Now I realize it wasn't. Everything reminds me of her. I keep thinking back when she was a kitten. She was the runt of the litter and she was scared of the world. I remember picking her up and her clawing into my shoulder and holding on to me for dear life. I remember telling her "it's ok little girl.. I am going to take you home and take care of you".

On behalf of myself, my husband and Sabbath.. I think all of your for your support as I tried to nurse her back to health. I would have been lost without all of you on here. You have no idea how much your input helped Sabbath have her good moments. I am so grateful to have found this site and all of you caring folks!
