Kitty leaking after PU surgery

Hi everyone just a question my mickey had PU Surgery  in Jan2014. he goes pea awesome like baseballs lol. my problem is he leaks a lot always wet and smell of pea also i notice his new area is red . he is always licking himself i dont know if its because he is washing to much ..any thoughts..I am so happy i found this site.. this pu surgery is very stressful..but so far well worth it just worried about my baby.

A friend of mine had this problem with her cat after PU surgery and said she would never have it done on another cat because of this.  I do know that if you don't keep the area washed, they can get something like diaper rash from the urine burning and it is very painful, and the more they lick, the worse it becomes.  I would suggest taking your cat back to the vet and seeing if there is something they can do, since your surgery is still pretty new and maybe there's something they can fix or some medication that might help with his control or at least keep him from getting so irritated.

I am probably going to have to do that..... after his surgery they did give me some triple antibiotic ointment it did take the redness away.. but he is still leaking and very smelly of urine when he uses his cat box he does not go all the way in it so he is getting some pea in the box in most of it goes on the floor his urine does not smell like he's got an infection.otherwise he is very happy I think he is so relieved that he can pee really good now
