Okay so lilly is just over 13 months old and she gets 2x 100g trays of coshida (lidl brand) vitacat (aldi brand) or oh so good (asda brand) pate or chunks style food normally theres about 4-5 diff flavours per brand this rotates every half a month she then gets between 15-20g of go cat crunch and tender kibble to snack on 24/7. Shes a very active girl mainly at late evening during the night but im so sick of having to go out 2-3 times a month to buy the wet food I dont have room to buy a month to couple months dupply in one go and im wondering how to go anout a kibble only diet for her and if thegocat is any good it'd be a tremendous saving on my purse and be easier to buy in bulk and store. Her weight is good at 3.6kg and vet said she shouldnt ideally get any heavier.

Okay lets get this clear I'm in a tiny little flat with barely enough room to store stuff never mind cans upon cans of food. I don't want to take her off the wet but its not just about the storage space its the trips back and fourth to the supermarket when we run out as I am pregnant and have Pelvic pain and my OH works full time and cant always get to the store in time. Please do not start judging me as this wasn't for advice on how to keep up with the wet it was for more info on the nutritional content of the Purina go cat tender and crunchy kibble. I know all the pros and cons of both types of food read all the articles on here and in all fairness I haven't noticed many changes in her from being fed dry only to being on combo to being on wet only and then back to combo. Her fur has always remained silky she drinks water little and often and is quite active for her age her weight is also perfect at 3.6kg. So I don't need posts outlining the pros cons I need people with knowledge on the nutritional values in the DRY food I am feeding my cat thats it.

@IrinaSaK or @jcat may be able to help you more with food choices in the UK that might be more practical, size-wise and economical and good food choices. Hopefully one of them will see this and be along shortly.

I don't think anyone is judging you. It does sound as though you want to take your cat off of the wet canned that she is getting now, to an all-dry diet as suggested in your comment 'im wondering how to go anout a kibble only diet for her and if thegocat is any good it'd be a tremendous saving on my purse and be easier to buy in bulk and store'. If your kitty is doing well on the wet canned, then you don't to go backwards at this point, but find something that is practical for you to purchase and will be beneficial for your kitty.

I found the Purina GoCat (have not heard of this brand), and the ingredients in the Purina GoCat with Tuna for example, are really questionable. The cereal as a first ingredient is not a good sign (this should be a meat protein), and the descriptions for the rest of the ingredients are pretty vague. I would definitely skip on this food.

Cereals, Meat and Animal Derivatives, Vegetable Protein Extracts, Oils and Fats, Fish and Fish Derivatives (2.5%*), Derivatives of Vegetable Origin, Yeasts, Minerals and Vegetables (Green, Orange and White Kibbles: 0.13% Dried Vegetables Equivalent to 1% Vegetables), *Equivalent to 8% Rehydrated Fish and Fish Derivatives, Light and Dark Brown Kibbles: minimum 4% Herring and 4% Tuna

Stephie I don't know If this would help you, but have you looked online for food? Viovet.co.uk is good and if you're pregnant and having difficulty carrying heavy cans (totally understandable!) maybe getting it delivered would be better for you? Worth a look surely? They also do medicines like flea treatments MUCH cheaper, as the site is an extension of an actual veterinarians.

I wanted to try avoiding ordering online as I live in a flat so most delivery guys complain about the stairs makes me feel awful lol. i dont mind the trups so much just if we bought all of it in one go we'd be emptying the shelves.

Sod them complaining! It's their job to deliver stuff, I'm sure they can handle a fee stairs! Viovet use DPD though which in my experience are the best and nicest couriers. And if you want to empty the shelves do it, supermarkets can always restock. Generally I prefer internet ordering for most things these days, shops are stressful and it's easier to compare things from the comfort of the sofa, especially if you want to go through the ingredients of lots of cat foods :)

I feed canned, so can't really recommend any particular dry, but you want something with little or no cereals. You could take a look at the brands and ingredients on this site, zooplus, like Applaws, Orijen, Acana, or Taste of the Wild, and then see what's available locally if you don't want to order online.

Good suggestion about the Orijen or Acana. I was going to mention these foods but wasn't sure if they are available in the UK. I have seen a new freeze-dried product from Orijen that looks good.

I buy all my cat food through amazon.co.uk on their subscribe and save offer so it is cheaper and it saves the trips to the supermarket.  Worth looking at the food on there.  I was buying applaws but am in the process of switching to almo nature both of which you can buy through amazon.

I'm on my phone now so I'll be brief: cat food should be hight protein, low carb, moderate fat and grain free. I do not feed dry anymore, but when I did I fed Applaws, Taste of the Wild, Acana, Porta 21 and Happy Cat La Cuisine. Orijen have not tried. My pickiest eater only liked Happy Cat.

@IrinaSaK  thank you for the reply I do in fact already know this as I do predominently feed wet my concerns were that it was becoming a struggle for me to get the wet food that my girl likes as I am pregnant and cant quite managed the frequent trips as space is to limited to store a vast amount all at once. Hubby has agreed to do the picking up of the cat food for me so this helps the matter and will not be switching to dry only.  Though now I am curious as to why so many people order online I see nor real saving in price compared to in the stores where I buy my cats food but maybe I am looking in the wrong places doesn't help I have an incredibly picky cat. The go cat kibble is the only one I have ever been able to get her to eat on a even remotely regular basis some days she will eat more of it than others though.

@oneandahalfcats  Thank you for the igrediants list its no more expansive than whats on the packet and they don't seem to list a more extensive one on their website (finally got my connection to stop being so slow.) will have to have a shop around see if I can find a similar style of kibble (with the tender kibbles as well as the plain old crunchy) but with a better ingredient make up as she does like this stuff and it makes a nice alternative for her as she gets bored of her wet food quite quickly. Even with the rotation of a different brand from 3 different stores.

i should have never posted in the nutrition forum, I don't know HOW I ended up here in the first place...Anyways, I don't know the answer, but couldn't you add things to the dry food she does like to make it healthier? like liquid vitamins or scraps of meat and dairy?

You can't get or she doesn't like these?:

"I do not feed dry anymore, but when I did I fed Applaws, Taste of the Wild, Acana, Porta 21 and Happy Cat La Cuisine. Orijen have not tried. My pickiest eater only liked Happy Cat."

good luck and congrats on the baby!

To be honest its not that I cant get the food she likes we can its that with being almost 6 months pregnant frequent trips to the store to buy her food are taking their toll and I don't have the storage space to buy in more than we already do. I wouldn't know where to start with adding things to existing foods what she gets while some of the cheaper brands available in the UK are pretty well balanced (Barr the kibble) which is mainly there as a snack. She's a healthy girl with lovely soft silky coat bright eyes and plenty of energy. And while her #2 have been a bit more smelly lately (we tried introducing a new wet to the rotation) it made her stink and in fairness she wasn't overly keen so after the last can was fed we went back to what we know she loves and agrees with her best. Not half as smelly now decent sized urine clumps in litter and she's drinking plenty when eating the kibble. She's currently sleeping on one of my daughters blankets which is so sweet she seems to like sleeping on my daughters bed in her discarded clothes or on blankets/coats ect that she uses frequently. She always looks very content doing so. I won't be messing around changing/adding/removing from her diet any time soon. Wet will still be her main source and kibble will be a supplement though I will be keeping my eyes open for a better kibble at around the same price tag as the one we currently use.
