I am curious about my new 5 week old kitten. His name is A. C. Delco but we call him Delco for short. He is no longer with his mother so we've been giving him kitten replacement milk. and kitten hard food. At first we gave him milk from the store but we noticed it gave him diarrhea so we decided to give him the kitten replacement. He has diarrhea pretty bad. There is no blood in it. It stinks too. We just got him 2 days ago and at first his stool was kind of hard, well not hard but not liquidy either. He hasn't had any shots yet and well he hasn't even been to the vet yet. He is a very active cat and he is already running around and he is very talkative. Right before he uses the letterbox he always meows. Then as he goes he stops. Should I be concerned?

The diarrhea is probably still from the milk, most kitties are lactose intolerant.  He will need to be dewormed though, it's pretty much a given that kittens have worms.  I have to ask, why was he taken from his mother so young?

Well the person told us he was around 8 weeks but he really doesn't look 8 weeks, he's still really small so me and my mom were guessing around 5-6 weeks.

At 5 weeks old, he needs to be exclusively on kitten milk and canned kitten food.  He's not able to process the kitten dry food.  You can mix the kitten milk and the canned kitten food into a slurry and place it on a paper plate to feed him.  It'll be messy and he'll need to be cleaned up after feeding.  He should get 5 or 6 meals a day, if not more.  Also, get him to the vet for a check up, age check, and a fecal exam.  You can also make arrangements for him to start his kitten shots and schedule a neuter for him.

Okay, I'm only 14 years old and I'm worried about him. Like really, really, really worried but that's just me. He acts just fine and he runs around and is kind of running sideways and he is just entertaining my whole family. It's just that I'm worried about. The little blood I seen today in his stool was just a little bit. Like it was maybe the size of an ant and there looked like there was just a little bit of mucous in there too. I did some more research and he was an outside kitten and I also think the diarrhea could be from some stress and the milk. I don't know, I am just worried but like I said that is just me. I haven't had a kitten in probable 3 or 4 years and we just got him 2 days ago. He's super sweet and I love him so much! He acts so normal. Also like his whole body twitches while he sleeps. Is that something I should be concerned about? He doesn't do it very often but sometimes he does.

Body twitching during sleep is usually dreaming, but you can ask when he has his first vet visit. When is he going to the vet?

I don't know when. He's very active and very talkative. I love him so much!!! I think it could also be some stress but I have no idea. He is very playful, he is even playing right now. :)

The sideways walking/running thing is an invitation to play and an attempt to look bigger than other kitties, when other kitties are present.  I call it the "crab walk".  Since he's had some diarrhea, the blood might be from that.  Get him into the vet for a check up and for the vet to make sure all is well.  Sounds like he's doing fine and you're doing a great job with him.  Five week old kittens are very playful and active.  VERY active!  Keep an eye on him and if you notice any change in behavior, play habits, potty habits, or if he's sleeping a lot more than usual, then get him to the vet ASAP.  Kittens can decline quickly, especially little ones like him.  Also, switch him to a good canned kitten food.  My favorites are Royal Canin kitten, Fancy Feast kitten, and Wellness kitten.  (The Wellness kitten makes kitties have very stinky poops, though.)

You really should talk to your mom about getting him to the vet. Most likely he has worms which are not only contagious to your other cat but you can catch them too . Also you should keep him separated from your other cat until he gets a felv/fiv test and gets his first round of shots.
