My 10 week kitten has a swollen belly, he had some dihorea is lethargic and not eating or drinking, when I pop him in his litter he just sits there. Very unlike him. He has been wormed etc. I called vet but closed today, will have to wait until tomorrow. :-(

I'm really sorry to hear your kitten is sick and glad you are getting him to the vet tomorrow.  You might try giving him at least a little water with a syringe or an eye dropper to make sure he stays hydrated, and do get an appointment as early as possible.

Thank you- since my post he has had something to eat and drink. Now just sleeping. So out of character, happy and playful last night and then today sooo lethargic as though moving is so difficult. I just can't think what it would be. He did have worms 4 weeks ago, (vet treated) was from abandoned litter. Was slow to put on weight but last 2 weeks has been gaining weight and very happy. ???? Fingers crossed not serious? Any thoughts?....

Any speculation on what it might be wouldn't really be productive, it would just be worrying.  I'm glad he has had something to eat and drink tonight, and sleeping is the best thing for him now.  At least he isn't vomiting.  It could be just a little tummy virus or it could be something more serious.  The vet will take his temperature and see if he has a fever, and the vet can feel his tummy and see what his intestines feel like.  If he's resting comfortably now, the best thing you can do is get some rest yourself and set the alarm to wake you in time to call the vet's office when they first open.  It's so hard when our babies are sick, but there's nothing more you can do for him right now.  Let us know how the vet visit goes.

After vet visit it was thought that perhaps was parasite. Leo had appeared happier this morning a little more active. Vet note very bloated tummy, perhaps some swelling of intestines and he has not grown a great deal. Leo was given his vaccination, injection of buscapan as well as some pro-biotic. I also have special food for kittens with upset tummy. Tonight however, Leo is not moving won't stand, eat or anything. No usual purring he is just sitting on my lap. I'm worried, any thoughts appreciated.

I am sorry your kitten is having a rough go.  Unless the vet had advised you that this type of reaction would occur with the mixture of a vaccination and injection of buscopan, I would be taking the kitten back to the vet or at the very least, giving them a call.  It may be a side effect but you need to make sure.  I am thinking of you and your kitten and please let us know how you make out.

I truly do not like the sound of these symptoms and am surprised your vet gave him a vaccine when he is obviously sick and did not do several other tests. Did the cat have a fever?  Would suggest seeing a different vet right away for second opinion.  See a feline specialist if you can.  Tell him your cat's symptoms ([if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:TargetScreenSize>800x600</o:TargetScreenSize> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings></xml><![endif]lack of appetite, lack of growth, depression, bloated abdomen, diarrhea, swelling of intestines as described by first vet.)  Tell him the cat's history --where did he come from?  Was he from a shelter or a place with many cats?  Suggest vet do x-ray of abdomen, if it is fluid filled then tap the belly and remove some of the fluid and see what it looks like, check the cytology (cells in it) for neutrophils, macrophages and lymphocytes, and do blood work.looking for elevated protein.

Just an FYI, no ill cat or kitten should be given a vaccination!  Get him to the vet NOW, this is not a good development.  Preferably, take him to a different vet for a second opinion.
