I extremely love animals but have never had a chance to get a cat having 3 dogs already but have been taking care of 5 kitties along with their mom that i found in my parking lot building. Have been giving them milk by a syringe and taking extra time with one of the kitties that was born very small, with not much hair & very fragile. Long story short after 5 1/2 weeks of visiting them and feeding them, someone took 4 kitties leaving me broken hearted. I suspect they didnt take the small kitty because he was either hiding or because its obvious that the kitty is too fragile for anyone to take care of her but i want to take care of her! I can't leave her alone waiting until someone else from my building decides to get rid of her. It pains me to take her away from her mom as i can hear her "calling" for her babies :( but at least this kitty is going to be in good hands & everytime i think of what may have happened to her sisters i start tearing up.... I took her to the vet and all her tests came out good and apparently it may be possible that she doesnt grow as much as her mom since she was less than half the size of her other sisters. Is that possible? A "dwarf like cat"? Anyway How do i take care of her? She wont drink the milk i leave at a plate unless i feed her with a syringe.. She has conjunctivitis from living in the dirt :( so im keeping her away from my dogs but suprisingly they are just curious of her and want to lick her. Oh & i also bought a litter box and she has been using it with out a problem. Im scared i wont be a good mom to her pleasee helpp!!

Ps. Sorry if i havent used the right terminology but as i said i dont know anything about cats! Also she purrs alot and after a full day has finally started walking around more.

Ok so she is around 6 weeks now and really small, but otherwise is acting normal for a 6 week old correct? Vet say she's healthy, and she is walking around/ playing/ using litterbox The issue is just with the milk?

If so, at 6 weeks old she is definitely old enough to be introduced to real food. Normally, the kitten weaning process begins at about four weeks of age.  As regards the bowl it sounds to me like she may just not understand it yet.  To begin weaning a kitten, you can mix the kitten food with formula so they recognize the taste. Smear the mixture around their mouth with your finger and let them lick it off. Once they get used to the taste, they’ll seek it out elsewhere. Then you can introduce them to lapping from a bowl.

Another approach is to do hat you are doing and serve kitten milk replacer in a shallow bowl.  Dip your fingertip (or the syringe or bottle the kitten is used to nursing from) into the liquid, let the kitten lick it, then guide him by moving your finger down into the bowl. Once he becomes accustomed to lapping liquids, create a gruel.

Though you should continue to bottle-feed while the kitten is learning to eat from the bowl, you can help with the gradual transition by always offering the bowl first, and then the bottle.
