This thread doesn't really belong here, but I just have to get this out!

There was this guy who was really desperate to find new owners for his newborn kittens. If he didn't find anyone to take them, he would have to put them down.

Because he didn't want them to grow up, only to put them down then when they've reached their 12th week (here we always wait until they are 12 weeks old), he wanted people to reserve the ones they wanted, so he could euthanize the rest at early as possible. This might make a bit sense, because the earlier the better.  But then why couldn't he just freaking keep them? Or what about donating money to the shelter, and that way getting them to agree to take them in? Or even just put them in a box outside the shelter, leaving the volunteers there with no choice but to take them.

Now, over to why he had these kittens. The mother of the kittens actually belonged to him. It wasn't just an accident or anything like that; he wanted her to get pregnant! He didn't schedule for an abortion either, because he wanted them to be born. Why? Because back in the days people used to think that having a litter, would make the females calm down, and he had experienced this to be true.

So let's sum up, shall we? He had an outdoor female cat who didn't want to sterilize yet, because he wanted her to have a litter. And if no one wanted the kittens, he had "no choice" but to kill them.

I don't really want to start writing curse words or saying violate things in here, so lets just show what I feel with cute smileys!

Did you try to PM this person?  Possibly the best answer in such a situation.

I think that is absolutely horrible and hope karma comes around to him if he carries it through. Those poor precious babies!

No, I didn't PM him. I knew I wouldn't be able to keep it together so I decided to shut up. There were so people who seemed upset though, so I hope they were braver than me and did something.

Stuff like this shouldn't even be legal! I understand that sometimes putting kittens down is for the best, but when you willingly let your cat get pregnant it's just unforgivable!

Where do you live?  What country has rules like these?  Also, why not post pictures etc. as they grow -- I bet they would all find homes before they are 12 weeks old.  They are so cute, who could resist?  Had I seen this, I would have tried to use my best calm communication style to try to help the kittens and mama cat.  Yes, people hold different beliefs than the rest of us and it is hard to deal with, but half the battle of rescue is educating people rather than exterminating them, no matter how much we want to!

This is in Norway. Apparently, we can spend 850 thousand dollars on paintings, but god forbid we help poor little kittens survive..

I'm just not brave enough to talk to people in these situations. Besides, he would then know absolutely everything about me, my name, where to find me etc. and when people are this crazy, there's nothing they wouldn't do..
