Hello, I'm new... Has anyone had any luck with Life Gold? My 11 year old tiger striped sweetie Leah was diagnosed with Mast Cell cancer yesterday. She presented with a lump on her back, which I noticed 4 days before her vet visit. Ironically, it was a claw nearly ripped out that drew the panicked call to the vet. A second claw began to do the same, and I really began to freak. When we saw our vet she initially thought the claws may be auto immune. The lump she wanted off ASAP. Yesterday was to be her surgery for the lump and claw cleaning. She has been on anti biotic for days and cortisone since last week. I found another lump Saturday, which I was hoping was a shot reaction. Yesterday, when we were called 3 hours after surgery, we did not have good vibes. The vet said she removed the one claw. But... She did not do the surgery. She was losing them because has tumors in her toes. The lumps are tumors, and she found more small ones. In short, (which this was not) her tiny body is full of cancer. She said because of all of the tumors she didn't want to risk spreading it more, and making her more uncomfortable. It's all about making her comfortable now. She was given Prednisone yesterday, and we are going to continue that to maybe give us more time. She is not in any pain. My vet was so sad, she didn't even charge us. Sweet woman, all I could do was cry. My husband is crushed. She is a daddy's girl. She will develop more tumors and be our lumpy girl. The vet said we will know when it's time. Between our tears, we are trying to not let her know we are sad. Whatever time we are given with her, we are going to make the most of it, and give her the very best we can. Thanks for listening :-)

I am so sorry to hear that Leah has cancer. Many, many vibes for her and hugs for you and your husband. I am not that familiar with mast cell cancer, but if surgery is not an option, is chemotherapy?

I am not familiar with Life Gold, but if you are interested in herbal supportive care, maybe you could find a holistic vet trained in Chinese medicine who can help you with it?

One other thing I can suggest for supportive care is to feed a low carb diet since carbs feed cancer.

Thank you,I will definitely go the low carb route. We would have gone the chemo route, but she is at the final stages. I just want to make whatever time she has left the best it can be :-) Thank you for your kind words.
