My Theodore has had PU surgery and had sitches in place for 14 days. He had them removed yesterday under anesthesia. He has pretty much ignored my husband since coming home and running back and forth to the litter boxes. He was playing with the other cat this morning chasing her around the house and vice versa. My hubby is most concerned with the running back and forth to the litters and pretty much ignoring the person he loves the most in the house.  Can anesthesia cause constipation in a cat? Will he return back to normal after a few days?

Is he going to the litter box to pee or poop? I don't think I have heard of anesthesia causing constipation, but he may be a little dehydrated if you had to withhold water before anesthesia. Removal of the stitches may be causing some sensation like he has to pee. It's really hard to say what's normal. If you are concerned, I would call your vet and ask.

Here is a recent (and long) thread sharing some experiences similar to yours which may help.

Yeah he is but his urine is blood stained. I'll go post in the PU thread and see what I can find out.
