I'm not sure if I'm posting this in right place. If not I apologize. Last week I adopted a new kitten. I bought her kitten food, but notice she will frequently eat out of my older cats food dish (she gets the indoor green dry formula). I pick up my kitten and move her back to the kitten food and she will eat it just fine. Is it okay if she nibbles on the cats adult food or do I need to keep it up? Any help would be appreciated and thank you.

Oh the other thing. I also bought her some milk, it's made specifically for kittens and cats. I started her on it three times a day, now she's down to two times per day. I don't see her drinking water, but she appears normal and healthy. Do I need to be concerned? I'm thinking if I don't see her drinking water by Friday I'll call her doctor and see what she says.

Not sure what the "indoor green dry formula" is. What is the brand name?

To answer your specific questions...
1.) Yes, it is ok for her to *nibble* on the adult food. Perhaps a better alternative would be to put both cats on an "All Life Stages" food.

2.) If your kitten is only eating dry food (with supplement kitten milk,) then, yes, you should be concerned about her water intake.
On a whole, cats do not drink enough water on their own (they lack the thirst drive dogs have.) As a result, canned food becomes an essential part of a cat's diet.
