Does anyone know how to train a cat not to eat a lot of dry food at once?

Hi
I highly   recommend that if you will be gone for over 24 hours, that you get a friend or pet sitter to come by and check on your pet at least once, giving more food and scooping the boxes and making sure they have water.

There is absolutely no way you are going to be able to train a cat not to eat a lot of dry food at once between now and the weekend and frankly, I would not know where to begin. Some cats will stop eating when they are full, but not all of them are like this and the solution for those cats is to not free feed them.

Automatic feeder, but I think the larger question is how you intend to deal with the litter box?

Your pets shouldn't be left to fend for themselves for more than 24 hours.  There is the litter box, food and fresh water and what happens if they tip the water bowl over and have no water for the entire weekend?  Find someone to stop by daily to handle the food, litter box and water issue or hire a cat sitter to take care of them while you are away.
