Anyone experience treating a cat with feline hyperesthesia?  My cat has been unofficially diagnosed with IBD. After a solid six months of changing his diet and treatment, we have been able to control the IBD and resulting pancreatitis through diet. The only thing that did the trick was Hills D/D wet food. We have been in a good spot for a little over 6 months now.

Recently, he has shown signs of feline hyperesthesia - skin twitches on the back, panicked licking at the base of his tail, back and stomach, shaking his head, sudden bursts of sprinting followed by frantic licking of back and tail.  It is very obvious that the twitching is uncomfortable and scares him.

He is an elderly cat, but still loves to play and is very active. We play with him daily. I would appreciate any suggestions/thoughts.
