Picture of the Month for May 2014: Cats and Other Animals

If you've been keeping track, you probably know that out theme for this month is "Cats and Other Animals". So, that's our theme for this week's photo contest too! Any picture that involved your cat/s and a critter of another species (other than human) works! As always, please make sure no cat - and in this case no other animal as well - was harmed or seems to be otherwise distressed in the picture. 


Submissions will be accepted through Monday, May 19th Thursday, May 22nd.

The Rules:

1. Choose the best picture you have for our monthly theme and post it to this thread.
2. Image needs to be clear and not too small. 480 pixels high by 640 pixels wide minimum should be a good enough size. Bigger is better.
3. One submission per member please 
   
4. Picture must include at lease one cat + at least one more animal of a different species. They can include people but not as the other type of animal

Our cats are ALL amazingly beautiful! This friendly photo contest is about the way in which the cat is captured in the picture. We're not looking for professional photography, but do try to keep things like image quality, lighting and composition in mind.

This is a tough one since I don't have any animals other than cats in my house. I may have to take a kitty for a walk and see what we can find. ix:

Some spring kisses on the balcony between our tuxedo cat and our greyhound/hovawart mix. He adores the cats and they give him little kisses now and then.

It is sad for me to post a pic of dog with a cat because of the bad experiences I had whereby I lost two precious cats killed by dogs...What I have found is no matter they come close to cats they are the enemies of cats....Here is a pic of my younger cat Molu with stray dogs in front of my house who were friendly to him and played with him when he was young kitten...But now they are the worst enemies and try to chase Molu if they found him ever...

Do the pictures have to be of current cats?   I have one from several years ago,  however, both cat and buddy are in pet heaven now.

Awesome pictures so far, but we could use some more. Our recent poll showed at least 50% of our members have pets other than cats, so share the pictures here with us! I'm moving the last submission date by three days to allow more members to contribute photos. Hurry up!

Little Boy and The Spider.

Kind of hard to see because the screen came out so bad in the picture. But that's Luna & Midnight watching a bunny hop away from them.

Ruby's an only pet and doesn't go outside, so not much chance of getting a picture of her with another animal.  So I dug out one of my favourite pictures from yesteryear.

Unfortunately, I've not been as active with my camera in recent years, so I'll have to go with one of the older pics that I posted in the poll thread... it's still my fave.

Pippen as a kitten, snuggling with Babee.

Pippen still gives Babee headbutts and cheek rubs to this day.  Babee tolerates it... to a point. 
Sorry 'bout the Hubby's arm in there, it was my best cropping option....

and the low rez (back in the day it was top notch! lol)... I do have the original if ya want to try working with it.
