Just tried it - it's definitely an amazing technology, but most of the kitties in the "playrooms" where I tried it were sleeping and didn't seem to notice the toys at all..

This is what it says on the website:
iPet Companion is a product of Reach-In technologies, the creator of online applications that allow users to visually and robotically interact over the internet. Our technology has the unique and powerful capability to power electrical and mechanical systems remotely, via the web, in realtime.

We discovered (accidentally) that cats love to play with our remotely controlled equipment! But we do not limit our products to pet toys; in fact, we've put serious effort into building this technology to facilitate remote interaction in a multitude of business and industry applications.
Basically, people from all around the US can just go online and activate these "toys" that have the iPet technology installed into them, and the kitties can play with the user. So it's kind of like long-distance kitty playtime... but IMO playing with our own kitties is more entertaining.

You choose a shelter and queue and when it's your turn you get 2 minutes to move the 3 toys to coax the kitties into playing with the toys. I was able to get a little black and white one in one of the CA shelters to play the full two minutes. Very cool way to add stimulation to a shelter cat's day.
