Hello .. i have a cat thats 8 weeks old . She was at the vet n has on her first vaccination n dewormed. She is really a small n is black n white long hair kitten. Well we got her n she had the runs so i just recently switched her food to purina kitten food. She was on some stuff that i never heard of . So she seems to eat alot or even eat all day if u let her lol but i thought she might be eating too much. But she could be.sleeping n then she wakes up n has some stool that comes out as shes walking n sometimes its just loose...n her poop os yellowish color n seems normal.. so just wondering if anyone could help me with some advice on what is wrong or is this normal?? N how many times should she be eating?

Parasites are the most common cause of diarrhea in young kittens. When was she dewormed? It also may be that she has a type of parasite that is not covered by the regular dewormers. If the diarrhea does not go away soon, I would ask for the PCR test to be run.

Oh, at her age, she should be allowed to eat as much as she wants as often as she wants.

I'd definitely take her in before she's due for her next shots, since not gaining could definitely indicate worms, along with the diarrhea.  Poor baby.  Don't wait, either, as kittens can go downhill quickly.  (Shots are for vaccinations, NOT for worms and other parasites, BTW)

It could be something like Coccidia or Giardia, which are protozoa parasite type things that can infect kittens and cause horrid diarrhea, and many times it becomes life threatening. Both of these need to be treated with specific medication that you will need to get from your vet... they will not clear up on their own!! Call your vet and see if you can collect and bring in a stool sample. This isn't very expensive, one of my vets charges $13, the other charges $18 for this. They may require you to bring the kitten in and collect a sample themselves, which will be more expensive, but worth every penny!  Remember that diarrhea can be life threatening in such a young cat. They can get dehydrated quickly. I had this same issue in 3 kittens last year, with the leaking stool, it can get serious very fast! Please seek vet care!
