Cat has been sneezing regularly for the past couple of days; about 6-8 times a day. We just got back from the vet yesterday for another issue, but she double-booked me, so we didn't have a lot of time and I forgot to tell her about the sneezing.

No change in energy, activity, sleep, and eating pattern. Not seeing any kind of discharge from the eyes or nose or mouth either. The only different thing in my house is that I started opening the windows during the day, but this was a week or so ago and his sneezing started 2 days ago. Do cats get sinus irritation or something equivalent?

Take him back to the vet? It's closed early today and closed all day tomorrow, so I can't call to ask. :(

They can certainly get allergies, and your opening the windows may be letting the allergen in.

Even if it was a couple of weeks ago, whatever is upsetting him may have only just come into flower or whatever.

Yes, cats do get sinus irritation. It could be a lot of pollen in the air or such. The fact that your windows have been open for a week and he just started sneezing two days ago tends to make me think this.

Is it bad if it's just pollen and such? I feel bad for the poor thing, if I sneezed that much it's probably just annoying and goes away on its own, but I don't know what it's like from a cat's POV. Still no discharge that I could see.

I may be enabling him too, lol. Everytime he sneezes for a few seconds, I go and love on him and pet him. It's actually sort of amazing how much he lets me pet him now. He used to get nippy real quick, but now I can stroke and pet him until -I- get tired.

Also something amusing; I've been imitating his sneezing for a bit, and he seems extraordinarily interested every time I do that. I'm trying to tell him, "join the club, buddy". I wonder if he gets it.

Cats can definitely get seasonal allergies, and this year pollen counts are high in a lot of places. You could check online or in your local newspaper on the days he sneezes a lot to try to pinpoint what type of pollen bothers him, then try to keep the windows shut when those counts, e.g. birch pollen, are high. The vet can also prescribe or recommend allergy medication for persistent cases.

Mogli has allergies, but we don't want to medicate him because of his digestive problems. Birch pollen seems to be the main problem for him, so I dust and vacuum a lot when the air is full of it, run an air filter, keep the windows shut during the day and night (airing in the early morning and evening), and wipe his eyes, nose and fur with a damp cloth on "bad days". It helps.

This is the first spring I've had him, so I don't know if he does this every year. He's still doing it today, but he's not "blaming" me for it. No excessive scratching or anything either. Today's pollen count is "Low to Moderate".

He spent most of the day sleeping today, although he's still alert and eats normally. We had a couple of shorter-than-usual play sessions, and he chased treats down the hallway. But other than that, he wasn't at the window sill watching and stalking birds and squirrels as he always does. If I had a cold I'd want to sleep all day too. Vet says to wait it out and bring him in if anything changes.
