is this normal behavior?

We just adopted a new kitten tonight and she hisses at
out other cat patches,patches wants to play with her but
the kitty hisses with her tail all puffy and her back up.
is this normal and why is she doing this?

chelle if this kitten has not been vet checked, you should not have her even near your resident cat. The kitten may have something that your resident cat could catch from her. But hissing and puffing the tail is a normal reaction, especially since they are together so soon. You should put the kitten into a room by itself with all it's needs for at least a couple of days to give the cats the time to adjust to the change of a newcomer.

Were going to take her to the vet soon

yeah she's a Fiesty little stinker

but thank goodness her and patches are getting
used to eachother
