:vibes::vibes: I'm praying for your little one.
Well their poops are very suspect to giardia. Greasy and they float! I tried to do fecals and it was like working with butter. I also didn't see anything which is not unlike giardia, so tomorrow we go to the vet. I've just been tube feeding all of them because if it's giardia they can very quickly go down from dehydration and malabsorption. I have watered down their formula with electrolytes. My little one is perky and was trying to climb out of the box. God I hope they hang on till tomorrow and I can get them some help. I wish I caught this sooner!!!!

Please let us know how you get on at the vet. I'm still thinking of you.

So no giardia that they found, going to send stool to the lab. Dewormed for hook and roundworms because even though the fecal was negative that's just because they are so young that the life cycle of the worms isn't complete enough to spit out eggs yet, but from the poor weight gain and weird poops she's almost sure they had something. And speaking of weird poops, one pooped while we were there and it was almost normal. Didn't have that grey greasy/butter look to it, but she did say while setting up the float that it was still a little greasy. She did say if they were full of worms it would make malabsorption a possibly and render the same type of poops. Could also be pancreatic issues, but in all three she was putting money on parasites. I agree. And she didn't want to start metronidazole unless necessary so we'll see what the lab says, and if they find giardia we'll start it then, otherwise I'll bring a stool sample back in 2 weeks and we'll recheck.

And amazingly, my little peanut with the bad eye is still hanging on. No ulceration or irregular pupil. Keep up with antibacterial drops and artificial tears and recheck in two weeks at the next fecal. She also knows an eye specialist who is a cat lover and does rescue and said she'd probably be able to get her to do an exam for free if it didn't look better in a couple weeks.

All in all she said they look good. Considering they got no colostrum (or a very small amount!)) and wre all tiny at birth, they look great and she's amazed they're alive. Especially the little one. We were emailing last night and I told her for sure the little one was fading, but I worked on her all afternoon and today she doing good!

She figured she was probably hypoglycemic so we agreed if she doesn't eat 4mls at a feeding to tube her and top her up.

3 more weeks... 3 more weeks... 3 more weeks... 3 more weeks... LOL

I stress more about these darn kittens eating than I did when my daughter was a baby. LOL

So good to hear they are hanging in there. Thanks for the update. I'll keep praying and think of you. And how are you holding up? You must be exhausted. Keep up the good work. :hugs:

I'm so tired. I'm counting down the days till no more night time feedings. This is partially why I like raising kittens instead of humans. The sleeplessness lasts mere weeks instead of years. LOL

Yes I hope they sleep through the night soon. I totally agree with you about human kids. My first human baby was a shocker. She woke every 45 mins for almost two years. She was always fussy because she was tired all the time. I couldn't do that again now. I would happily get up to kittens though.

12 days old today!!!

There is a huge difference in size, it's quite comical. The male is 248 grams, and my two girls are 190. He's such a chunk. Everything about him is just BIG - legs, paws, head, etc. And my little peanut has caught up to the other girl.

The boy, who we've been calling Black Bear, is so ahead of the others that if I didn't know for a fact he came from the same litter I'd swear he was a week older. The other two still pretty much settle down after feeding and go to sleep, while he lays on his back and plays with his paws and tail. He's only 12 days old!! He's so fun to just sit and watch.

I always feel better when they reach that two week mark. I can relax a little. Plus they get way more fun to interact with. I love kittens!!

Surely you will be blessed for what you do, it must be heartbreaking and oh so rewarding at the same time! The babies are absolutely adorable, I'll pray for their continuing good health!

In the last two days I've had one squat (a poop), and one butt wiggle. Peanut actually walked away from the huddle, went to the back of the box, and squatted and pooped. Then today while they were playing she did a little butt wiggle and then promptly fell over. Just didn't have the coordination to follow through. Lol
