Anybody else a fan of Trader Joe's?

Here are the top-selling 17 products from your friendly TJ's:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/foodbeast/a-stunning-look-at-the-17_b_5290865.html

I can testify to the Corn and Chili Pepper Salsa; it's delicious. As are the Chocolate Orange Sticks. I buy their raw almonds for my almond brittle, but now I want to try the Rosemary Marcona Almonds. Actually, my TJ's list is always a mile long!

Their olive oil is not on this list, but it's the only olive oil I use. It's good stuff. I have virgin olive oil for sauteing and extra virgin olive oil for salad dressings. (And no, I do NOT call it EVOO.)

I know it's a frozen heat and eat but I do really like the Mandarin Orange Chicken.  It's one of the very few frozen ready made things that I really like.   I haven't been to Trader Joe's in a while.  The last time I was there they didn't have the Mandarin Orange Chicken so I thought they might have discontinued it.

I only recently started checking out Trader Joe's (4 minutes away by car), but I really like the stuffs they have there. I didn't know they call it EVOO though, I shall start calling it that too.

Cory, TJ's doesn't call it EVOO, but Rachel Ray does. When she was on the Food Network, that was all you heard out of her.

Their olive oil is very good. There was something about some of olive oils in the US not really being from Italy? Something like that....I forget exactly what happened. But during the course of that story, people started talking about TJ's olive oil.....turns out it's really good stuff. I've been using it for years. If you live close to a Whole Foods, their 365 olive oil is also supposed to be excellent. I think TJ's might be a wee bit cheaper.

I envy you being so close to a Trader Joe's. Check out their cheeses, if you like cheese. They have some good ones. Rick likes their cookies. They have a container of tiny little peanut butter cups, about as big as your little fingernail.....they are delicious! I love their selection of breads. And if I could afford their cat food, that's what my cats would eat (but it's expensive as we have six cats). They also have a lot of different rices.

They have some good frozen foods, too. (Denice, I like their Mandarin Orange Chicken, too.)  I love edamame and their frozen edamame is quite good. I also keep a couple bags of frozen artichoke hearts in the freezer; I've never seen them anyplace but at TJ's.

My biggest complaint about Trader Joe's is that they do discontinue things quickly. They had a wonderful fontiago cheese (fontina-Asiago). It was so good, but they next time we went, it was discontinued. Same with their Rice Trilogy...we really liked it, but they stopped carrying it.

Our closest TJ's is in State College, a good hour away from us in central PA.

Here's a Fearless Flyer, if anybody is interested in taking a gander: http://www.traderjoes.com/FEARLESS-FLYER/   It's the most current one I could find, from the end of April.

I just got back from Trader Joe's, this got me started thinking about the Mandarin Orange Chicken.  Of course things snowballed a little like it always does when  I go there.  I got two packages then I got some frozen egg rolls.  I needed rice and didn't want to stop again so I got a package of the Jasmine Rice, I wish they sold it in smaller packages as well.  I had all that rice so went back and got another package of the chicken.  They have the tubs of cookies over the frozen entrees and I got a tub of the Triple Ginger Snaps.

I love Trader Joe's!  We have one just downtown, about five minutes away from the house.  The only problem is it's in a small shopping center with a Peet's Coffee, a burger place, and a couple of other shops so parking is impossible.  But when I do go in there, I usually don't go for anything specific, I always like to look around and see what new kinds of things they have, there's always something interesting to try.  I like their ready made food and sometimes go in to pick up a lunch to take to work when I'm too lazy to make myself one at home.

I can't stop laughing. I went to TJ to find some bread crumbs, and the nice man asked if there's anything he could help me find. On a limb I just said, "Yeah, where can I find EVOO (I pronounced it ee-voo) bottles?"

And he knew what I was talking about!!

I was gigglesnorting all the way and trying not to show it. Maybe it actually really isn't funny at all, but I'm easily amused. I live across the street from Whole Paychecks too, but I rarely buy things from there.

I have only been to Whole Paychecks once and I wasn't really impressed.  I haven't been back again.  It's like a high priced Trader Joe's.  Both of the ones here are in wealthy areas and I understand why.

We have a Whole Foods within 1/2 mile of our house and we go there pretty often.  I could just shop at Whole Foods and TJ's, but hubby likes his brand foods--Ritz crackers, some special kind of hot dogs he likes...stuff he can't get at either of those stores.

Oh, Cory!  you just spell it out.....E....V....O....O, as Miss Ray says it. Eevoo, that's hilarious. I may start calling it that now too! Eevoo!

I'm not particularly impressed with Whole Foods either (or Whole Paycheck, as the case may be.....I've heard the store called that before and I tend to agree with it. Their prices can be ridiculous. I think their eevoo is more expensive than at TJs.).

I need a written list to hit TJ's or the bill would get ugly, not that it doesn't get ugly anyway sometimes.  Trader Joe's Vodka Sauce is very good. So is their Pumpkin Butter, but not as good as what I hear that Cookie Dough stuff is! They also carry (or used to carry) a really good type of chicken sausage. Rick liked it a lot; I know they still had it the last time we went to the TJ's at State College....that was a few months ago.

They had samples of the cookie butter Saturday.  I didn't try it though because I knew then I would want to get some.

This thread does my diet no good!

Stunning looking food.

I'm just amazed at the prices! In most cases they are way under what we would pay for similar products here.
