Hello Everyone,
This is my 3 and a half year old cat Paprika Sapphire that my husband and I adopted about 2 months ago in Colorado. She went through a lot to finally be with us, going from shelter to shelter 3 times. Paprika is the first pet that either of us ever had and she is everything we could've asked for and more! We love Paprika like she is our baby!
I remember the moment we met for the first time and it was like magic. We went through a lot of shelters and while there were many cats we met, it just didn't feel like they were "the one". When we saw her in her little cage at the shelter, hiding from the world, we were enchanted by her obvious beauty and shyness. In the visiting room, this little kitty jumped onto my lap as soon as the volunteer put her on the floor and started kneading me and cuddling us both. Even the worker had to admit it was the first time she ever saw that happen so quickly. It is true what they say: the cat is the one who chooses and not the other way around. When we brought her home she adapted amazingly well and we were officially family from day one.
She had some struggles in the first month health-wise and had to go to the vet 3 times costing us over a thousand dollars. As unemployed students it was a lot for us but it didn't matter as long as we did what was best for her. We also had struggles because, although we researched a lot about cats before we adopted her, we still freaked out over every little thing that she did. Now that she has recovered she is the most loving, cutest, and funniest cat we ever met and I feel so blessed to have her in my life. We are also, day by day, getting more confident in taking care of her so she is the happiest and healthiest cat she could be!
I'm so glad to have finally joined theCatSite because I have been lurking in the shadows for quite a while! Can't wait to get to know all of you and your beautiful kitties!
