I bought new glasses today. I've been needing new ones for a couple years now. Not that the prescription has changed much because I can still see well with my existing ones, but the arms are metal and the metal is wearing off and becoming rough and irritating to my skin.

I picked several to try on and kept coming back to these. Of course they were the most expensive of all of the ones I tried!  LOL

Here is a picture. I should have them in a couple weeks.

There was a similar pair with silver wire, royal blue arms and a sapphire stone.  But the silver wire made my face look washed out.  Plus I have green eyes, so I went with the green stone.

Funny how that works.  I can be looking at anything--jewelry, ceramic planters, shoes, outdoor furniture, doesn't matter--but which ones catch my eye? THE most expensive ones...

Those are very attractive!

Thanks!  I can't wait to get them! I told the girl that even if I didn't need glasses, that I would probably just wear those for looks because I love them so much!  LOL

I want one really nice pair of glasses, and I want to get a few more pair from this site:   http://www.zennioptical.com/   They're made in China I believe. A few girls from work order their glasses from there now and have been happy with them.

I have a  wide face, so my selection there is more limited and I want a nice dressy pair.

The frames were $399 and the lenses $450. With taxes it came to about $850 for a single pair!!!  They have a special right now where I can buy one pair and get a another pair of equal or lesser value free. And can pick from any frames in the store.  Or I could get 30% off the price. I took 30% off.  Plus my work health insurance will cover $150 I think, so the total for this one pair is about $460 or so.  Cheaper than my last pair!

My problem is that I have progressive lenses with 5 or 6 different fields of vision which add to the cost of my lenses.  I did see some cheaper frames, but the height of the lenses were similar to my current ones and not able to add the additional 2 fields to the lenses. The frames with the needed height were all $275 and up.  And many of those were too narrow for my face.

Very pretty.

l took an eye exam this morning and found out l have high pressure in both eyes - 21 in both. l have to go back in 3 months for a different test.

Anyway, l bought my very first pair of glasses this morning! They aren't as pretty as yours but wow, it's quite overwhelming to shop for glasses. They all look alike until you try them on, lol.

TG for work insurance!

You'll have to post your pic wearing them once you get them.

I really like those frames!  I am in need of glasses. Current pair is only 3 yo but my vision gets worse really fast.  Main thing is going and trying on frames as I just get overwhelemed and hard for me to see.  Think I heard Lens Crafters has a special setup so you can see yourself easier? Maybe another store though.

I really should do that upload a photo and try on frames thing so many offer.

Yeah! They sure are! Single vision lenses are cheaper. My friend is able to get gorgeous glasses for under $100.  But when you start adding in bifocals or progressive lenses with more than 2 different fields of vision (mine has 5 or 6 plus reading), it gets very expensive.  Which is why I wanted to get a fancy pair, get them to measure my pupil distance, and then I can order other less fancy glasses for around $60 or so from China.  But it's nice to have a fancy pair of glasses for when you dress up.

I like your glasses, Linda....they're going to look wonderful.

We are both due for eye exams. I usually buy new prescription sunglasses more often then regular glasses because I wear sunglasses all the time, even in the dead of winter. I don't wear any glasses inside the house. I have no-line bifocals.

The glasses are very pretty. I had cataract surgery on one eye early this year and had to get a new Rx. I got the most inexpensive ones that I could. I will need surgery on the other eye at some point and will have to replace them then. I'll get nicer ones then as my Rx should not change again after the other cataract is removed. Enjoy your new specs!
