Titan is going to be 6 months soon and I'm already looking into getting him neutered which makes me really nervous. Mittens was spayed and was quite fast and easy for her to heal. I was just wondering of there is a lot of difference between taking care of a neutered male than taking care of a spayed female? Should I take extra precautions or is it the same thing? Im also nervous about him using the litter box. He uses paper litter will that be fine? Can it get infected with the litter? Also this may sound stupid but does it hurt/burn when they pee? Like if they pee touches the incision?

It's an even faster and easier healing time for male cats compared to females. It's a much easier operation they don't usually even shave them.

The testicals do swell a little for bout 24-48 hours - but it doesn't seem to bother them at all :D

Also I don't think it will sting or burn when they go the toilet. The testicals are located above their penis so the urine will not get onto them when peeing. If he is use to paper litter I don't see any reason to change it

Having been through MANY spayings and neuterings, the males have it a LOT easier. They may slow down a little the first day, but usually by the second they are back to normal. I've never had one that got infected either. Good luck, and don't wait too much longer or he'll start spraying!
