My cat that isn't a year old and is biting her 1 week old kittens in a rough manner. Is this normal?

So this is my cats first litter. She's been a great mother so far but today she started sorta attacking the kittens. They're healthy and this is abnormal for her behavior. She actually attacked my foot while I was walking and she was following me. I'm just curious to if she's trying to hurt the kittens or what's going on. Any information would be a big help!! :)

If she tried to hurt them, you would clearly see damages, be no doubt about it!

so, although she is apparently overdoing a trifle, Im sure it looks worse than it is.

In facts, forumites tell this now and then.  It is not the most desirable behavior, but the kittens apparently manage this OK.

But of course, proceed to be watchful.  Perhaps you see some signs of her being stressed by something, or her not well, or...

Thus, be watchful, be prepared, but dont need to panic.

Good luck!

Thank you!! I've never had kittens before and this had me very worried. I thought I might have to move up her appointment at the vet to be spayed. She's been a great mother except for that incident and I've been keeping an even closer eye on her and the kittens. She's not done it again either.
