My cat, Tubs had kittens almost exactly a month ago. She is an amazing mom and the kittens are healthy and quite little characters but I am concerned she may be running low on milk. There are only two kittens, she had a miscarriage two weeks before these were born and all 4 were dead :( took her to the vet they said shes okay there is nothing else in there. So two weeks later, these two cute furry tiny healthy.bundles of joy popped out! Miracle babies I call them (: everything is great accept my cat is not a very big cat and when we took her to the vet after she had the miscarriage the vet said she didnt have any milk! So when these kittens were born I was a little concerned that there wouldn't be any milk but she ended up having milk I'm just a little concerned that she may now be running out of milk I have got the bottles and the kitten milk they won't take the bottles she's not completely out of milk yet you can still see that they are getting milk out of the nipples but I think she's definitely running low and her weight seems to be going a little bit down.

Just maybe hoping for some tips! Im new here. (:

First, here is a great site that may help.

Second, are you feeding her kitten food instead of adult food? Doing this can help maintain her weight and include the nutrients the kittens need for her milk.

Now with the bottle some take to them right away while others do not. I have two right now that I am nursing and one loves the bottle while the girl fights me no matter what. What you have to do is make sure they are on all fours and on their belly. Never put them upside down like a human baby as this can lead to formula in their lungs and can be very dangerous. Next take your index finger and thumb and cup them around its neck right behind its head and put them in a headlock. Yes, they hate it but it needs to be done. Now you can either take your nail/finger and gently open their mouth to slip the nipple of the bottle in that way or push the nipple up into their mouth. Once you get the nipple in they will fight, thats why you have them in a headlock.. follow their head movements with the bottle to make sure the nipple stays in. They will eventually learn to suckle on it. I would also pull the nipple and twist it to encourage them to suckle it. Only pull the bottle/nipple back just enough..don't pull it out ^ ^

I hope this helps!
