pregnant cat 65 days ,need advice x

ok folks ,where on day 68 and nothing going on ,mittens has'nt eat this morning but its only 10;30am here in ireland ,she slept all night .so fingers crossed it be very soon .

anyu advice on pregnant cat 68 days

ok so far mittens is very loving wants rubs and lies on her bk showing off her big belly which she wants rubbed  a lot  ,also wont leave my side ,following me every where ,like i said in above post she slept by my bed all nite ,any 1 think she is mite be on way to having kittens ??

hi to all ,my cat mittens has 2 day old kittens ,2 are black and 1 is black and white ,mittens her self is black and white and the father is black .

There is no way of telling from these colours. If one of the parents had been red coloured then you could have a pretty good guess as red is sex linked. But from a black cat and a black and white cat then kittens showing either just black or black and white could be of either sex.

I will try to explain

Females get one colour gene from each parent

Mother cat is black and white and father is black

So females could get either black or white colour gene from mother and only black gene from father
Meaning females will be either black or black and white.


Male cats get their colour from their mothers only

Mother cat is black and white

This means male kittens could be black or black and white

Yes that's right

so ive 2 black and 1 black and white ,would that mean the 2 black ones could be boys ?? and black and white be either sex ,or in my case not sure as mom has black and dad is all black

The two all black kittens could also be female not just male :nod:

They could have taken the black gene from mother and a black gene from father

1 black gene from mother + 1 black gene from father = black female kitten

BUT they could also be male kittens too. They could be either sex
