Im fostering 4 kittens 3 are 5 weeks old and the other is 4 weeks old. Weezy the 4 week old because very sick earlier this week. I honeslty thought she was going to die. She had a horrible URI her temp was 93 and she lost alot of weight, stopped eating and was having trouble breathing. I was up every hour syringing her ad wet/pedylite and water and gave her SQ fluids to keep her  hydrated. Put extra heating water bottles in her carrier. Started her on Amoxi drops and saline up her nose. I aslo syringed her nutrical and prayed. Two days of this and she started eating from the bottle again on her own and even ate some ad wet food on a lid by herself.

yesterday I started reintroducing her back to formula since it has more of what she needss but after drinking it she threw it all back up( I deluted it pretty well) I thought maybe she drank to much all at once so when I fed her again I let her drink a little gave her a break and then let her drink again about 5 mins later she threw that up too. Her next feeding I gave her the AD mixure and she didn't throw up. Can she be allergic or lactose intollerant. Just like human babies some can't handle regular formula.

I figured that she got the formula for 2 weeks and shes eating wet food on her own  just not well enough to take her all the way off the bottle yet.

Thanks for all your mojo on my last thread. So glad this little girl pulled thru.

Hi @sheltieluver

It sounds like you've been doing great work with her.  Yes she easily can be lactose intolerant and if she is ok on the A/D, that's a great food for a sick cat who needs calories, so if she's eating that I'd stick with it if she likes it and her stools remain normal.
