Hi all. I'm Lexie's mom. She's a beautiful 18 month old tuxedo girl. We adopted her at age 8 weeks from our local shelter. We had lost our 17 year old shelter kitty six months prior and I couldn't stand not have a kitty in the house any longer. Lexie started having grand mal seizures at age 10 months which just about broke my heart. We have the seizures under control and although she still has occasional seizures which I hate, we have learned to live with them. Since the seizures began I have looked continually at new forums seeking information on giving Lexie the best care possible hoping for a long and healthy life for her. She is the sweetest cat that has ever owned us and we adore her.

Lexie sounds like a beautiful cat, I think you were 'chosen' to watch over her because you are such good cat parents! I love how you sound so matter of fact about her seizures, you don't worry too much because you are doing everything you can. Bless you for caring for her, I'm sure she'll give you much love and happiness in return!

Thank you both, we think she is pretty special. Here's our Lexie girl at Christmas time. Being so black, it's hard to get a really good picture of her. This one I think shows off her gigantic white whiskers.

She is adorable!
Those whiskers are something else. I'm so glad that she has you to look after her. Wonderful news that the seizures are mostly under control. Best wishes for you and pretty little Lexie that it keeps improving.

Thank you all for your kind welcome.
Black and white kitties are our favorites and Lexie is one of the prettiest that has ever owned us. She's also the most challenging. At 19 months old her medical record is already 50 pages long. From epilepsy to surgery for an impacted fur ball. The 3 ring binder I keep on her just keeps growing. But she is so worth it. The things we do for our fur babies!

Poor little Lexie (and you). You've both had quite a few challenges. Here's hoping that that binder doesn't get any thicker!

Hi Lexie's mom and beautiful Lexie! Lexie you are such a pretty kitty and I hope and pray your health stays great from now on!

I love Lexie's whiskers! If I don't focus on my kitty's whiskers it's like there's nothing there but when I do I'm like "whoa!". It's so funny

She's a stunner--love the whisker pattern--perfectly balanced!  Welcome aboard!

When I first saw Lexie's picture on our local shelter's website it was her whiskers that made me instantly fall in love with her. We had lost our 17 year old kitty the previous June and were facing our first Christmas in 30 years without a kitty and I was sooo sad. So I took off work and out to the shelter I went. The picture didn't do her justice. She was ALL whiskers with a little kitten attached. We have had the honor of being owned by 3 previous cats in the past and loved them all but I have to say Lexie is really the most special. Even with her "issues" (not to mention the gazillion dollars in vet bills) I wouldn't give her up for anything.

Oh boy, isn't that the truth.  I have a folder for each cat with their medical records and a spreadsheet to keep track of who needs what vaccine, etc., when... but they are worth it, aren't they!

She was ALL whiskers with a little kitten attached.
That made me laugh out loud.  Too cute!
