See what you miss when you don't check everything out from day to day.
I hope you get a wonderful condo soon.
What is a condo? I know it's a condominium but explain.

A Condo is a series of garden apartment like homes, usually attached to one another. You own it 100%. You take care of the inside, but maintenance takes care of the outdoor work (no mowing!)

a Co-op is the same as a condo, but you don't "own" it, you own stocks of the apartment, plus you need a board's approval before you can move in. It's cheaper than a condo, but same settings. this is what I am going for.

Here's a link to the two I am looking at an considering bidding on. I just want to look at a few more before I do place a bid

I am leaning towards this one, because its cheaper, and has a front/back entrance with a porch and small gardening plot. it's on the first floor.

here's the other, the one that went back on the market. It has a 20ft balcony and on second floor.

They're really pretty looking properties, Draco!
 that you get either one.

hah!

that's the other thing about Coops, you are not allowed to rent it out, unless immediate family.

I really like both of them!  The one on the second floor seems brighter with more light. Kitchen is definitely smaller.   However, I would go for the main floor one personally. I like the idea of 2 entrances, ground floor is easier to get groceries and larger deliveries into, and I'd love to have  a little garden.

My fingers are crossed for you!!!

PS:   Where I live those condos would sell for over $300,000 each, if not over $400,000.

Oooh that second one already has an aquarium! :lol3:

The prices are both great (so much cheaper than Canada!) and they look like decent, well maintained properties. Good luck!

ha, that aquarium has several lizards inside!

A co-op is much cheaper than a Condo. The ones I posted above are Co-ops

So your going for a co-op. The more expensive one is big and bright. But there's quite a big difference in money. Thank you for sending the links and went on virtual tours.
Good luck.

There's a few questions we are going to ask before putting in a bid for this place:
http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/600-Fulton-St-APT-F1-Farmingdale-NY-11735/2120591109_zpid/

We noticed there was some kind of water damage in the ceiling, we want to find out more about that

Plus, what happened to the home owner. It was obvious she was elderly.. I believe she passed away around Christmas time, because there's still wrapped christmas presents on the table. If she did pass away, we need to find out if its legal to sell it (meaning, if its in the will and what does it say)

Dependign on the answer to the questions we have, the above and more, hopefully we'll get an offer in tomorrow! I love this place!

Just catching up with this thread and the great news that these places are still available!

That must have been a bit weird to walk in an see unopened gifts on the table? Maybe she went into hospital, rather than passed away, and is now somewhere else? Some great questions though Karen. I hope you are able to find out about the ceiling and status of the title.

Continued positive vibes

How sad seeing the wrapped presents. You'd think they'd have taken them out.
It's not a bit cramped or does it look like that with all the furniture there.
Anyway wishing you the best of British luck. You can't get much better than that.
Lots of :vibes: coming your way :vibes:

Who do you share washing machines and dryers with?

The photos actually make the coop smaller than it really is. If I get it, I will be taking better photos!

The washer and dryer is shared with the people of the coops. I believe it's well maintained and cleaned often

ok, we spoke to the broker of the unit. All repairs will be done on his end, which is a huge plus.

We put in an offer. Now we're waiting a response!

My husband and I have owned over 30 houses in the last 35 years so know the excitement of getting a new place. ( we 'flipped' houses before it WAS 'flipped'!)

Remember though, if you don't get it there are always others out there that may be even better! Put in low offers on several, most will say no, but it only takes that 'one' to get a good deal. Good luck on this one, I'll send you some 'lucky' vibes!
