Hi, I'm living in Mexico and stray cats are very common here. I found a stray kitten in a classroom in my school the other day! she is a female of about 6 months, she looks like a burmese/ siamese cross with beautiful big blue eyes. I instantly fell in love with her and took her home. She looks clean but very skinny. her hips per trade out and she is very skinny at the back. I took her to a vets and he 'thinks' she is in good health. He checked her teeth and paws and her fur for fleas. she is the most affectionate cat I've ever known! I'm not sure how much I should be feeding her a day to help her gain weight. Shes eating dry kitten food well and a little wet food and drinking lots and has used her litter tray for both a wee and poo. can anyone advise me on what steps I should take next as I'm not sure the vets are totally reliable here :/

Thank you for helping this kitty!

Feed her wet kitten food for a more months, to help her gain some weight.  The cans usually have guidelines as to how much to feed a day but don't let her overeat.  She may want to if she's been hungry for a bit.

She sounds like she may have gotten lost - so look for flyers or posters.  If her owners were responsible, they may try to find her.

If not, one of the first things you'll need to do is have her spayed.  No sense in adding to the stray cat problem you already seem to have!
