The most probable its the colostrum / milk which has come, got perhaps dusty, and  become gooey...    Pus would be extremely rare, and you would see her sick inother ways too....

Try and clean off with a soft tissue / cloth, wetted with warm water and perhaps some mild liquid soap.  -   afterwards clean of the soap of course...

continuing

Make sure the kittens are warm!   both  all round, but especielly when they shall eat - or you supplement feed them

if they are becoming weak -  you can perk some energy in them with smaeraring a little glucose sugar  (brand name may be Dextrose) on their gum.

If you dont have it nearby, try with honey or white caro syrup...    Even common white sugar works, but much slower.

It may be good to give them some water, so they wont get dehydrated.  Use a dropper (eye dropper).

Let them be on tummy, head up.  Almost like with they nurse mom.   The dropper in the corner of the mouth, and not too much at one time...

If you shall extra feed them with kmr or goat milk, use the same trick with dropper, tummy, corner of the mouth.

With infants is a dropper much easier than a bottle.

Proceed to report!

Good luck!

Please report more often!   If everything is going well, we want to hear it so se dont have to worry.    And if something is wrong, dont wait till the kittens are diving downhill.  In that situation they may be very difficult to save.    Its much easier to save them earlier, before they crash down.   So report, describe the situation, and ask for advices.

I myself will take leave in some minutes, away several days on a little vacation trip.

But others forumists and Team members are patrulling and trying to help out if need be.

By your comment I understand the overall situation isnt too bad?  the surviving kittens OK?

It was perhaps so the kitten who died was born a very weak one, and perhaps even its fate was to die early??   Such happens.

I do hope it is so.

Also, do weigh them every day at the same time.  this way it is easier to follow up their development, if they gain as they shall (about 10 grammes a day or more is good) , or if they do not gain...

Best to measure in grammes, its easier.  An electronical scale for mail or kitchen.    You dont need anything fancy, so you can but or lend a cheap one.

Very experienced rescuers can often see their development just be observing and weighing in a hand.  But for all the less experienced, weighting every day is an invaluable tool, saving many lives..

Good luck!
