Hello (:
I've been owned by six beautiful cats in total whom all I've rescued the last years from the streets of the Island which I live in Greece. They are all outdoor cats~sterilized & vaccinated. We live in the country side. I missed the sterilization of one of my females as I thought that she was younger (so I thought that I had some time for the operation) but due to my miscalculations she got pregnant & gave birth to 4 beautiful kittens 12 days ago. Since day 1 I took the young mother & her babies inside the house (in our guest room) where they have been there ever since. They are all doing fine, I regularly feed her & check on them all the time.
So, actually the thing is: Since she gave birth (she's such a loyal & protective mother) she did not go outside. She did not "ask" and I did not force her. She has always been an outdoor cat. What shall I do? Shall I wait for her signal or shall I help her to go outside just to have a walk, to chase maybe something (: and then come back to her kids. Is it OK if I let her stay inside and then when the kittens grow up to put them outside all together? After so long?
You have any advise?
Thank you in advance!

Hi, yes let her remain inside, the kittens need her close by constantly with them nursing.  Also she could get pregnant again VERY soon so keep her in until after she has been spayed. Do you have any photos?

What cute babies! I would personally keep them all inside only until they are all neutered/spayed.

Your mama cat should stay inside until she is spayed. Your vet can give you good advice about how old the kittens should be when they are neutered or spayed. If not careful, you could have lots more kittens on the way.

Right.   Cats are not protectec from new pregnancies by lactacing, unlike humans.   So dont let her out before she is spayed...   :)

So, if a good mother who stays with her kittens without problens, suddenly demands to go out, you KNOW she is in  heat and seeks after a tom cat...

Be happy as she is totally happy with staying inside with her kittens.

Who knows, she perhaps will be inside only  now   afterwards??   When she has discovered being inside only is quite ok.

Good luck!
