We got a new house.
We currently live in a country house that is split into 2 units. My neighbour is great and we get along really well but we want a place that's not shared. Plus, this place is only 2 bedrooms and we are going to need 3 bedrooms. We get the place July 15 and will probably move in the following weekend. I am so excited to move in and start getting everything ready for the baby. This new place has everything on my list of stuff I wanted in a house except for a fenced in backyard, but we can manage without that since we always have. It's 3 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a living room, a play area for the kids and it's a detached house so no more house sharing.

Oh how exciting!  You will definitely want the extra bedroom!  I'm now wishing we had 4 bedrooms because we have nowhere to put up out of town company!  Or a playroom. lol  And then of course we'd have to move on to sharing bedrooms if we ever end up with a surprise baby.  eeeks!

Wonderful news.  Must be great knowing you can move well in advance of your due date.   Got fingers, toes and paws crossed here for your scan to go well and have a good view of the baby.

That sound wonderful. I'd love to move into your old house. But I'd never get a visa to come to the USA or get a green card and as much as I'd like to leave here I've my kids and grandkids so that's that.
I'm so very delighted for you getting what you want and in good time. In thought to myself but July is ages away but it's not. You must be so excited but here as a mum I will tell you. Do not do too much. You and your cargo are precious. You're already doing the really hard work. Now hubby can do his bit - even though he did his bit a few months ago but that doesn't count. I really am pleased.
:clap: :9::high5::woohoo:

I don't plan on doing too much. We will pack on the weekends and we will either hire movers or he will get friends to help and we will rent a truck. My neighbour said she'd help me pack, but she's also pregnant so I don't know how well two pregnant women would do packing. We'd have to stop to take breaks every 5 minutes.

I had a doctor's appointment today to check up on everything and listen to the heartbeat. Everything went good and the baby's heartbeat was 140. Based on old wives tales, that also points toward a boy. The doctor looked at my belly and said "well there's no hiding it now mommy."
Not that I am trying to hide it, but my belly is getting big and round.

Great to hear all well at the doctors today - and getting closer to that scan.
Oh dear, going by that recent photo you posted of Aimee, you and babytoo - my 'foodbaby' is about the same size!  I'd best do something to make sure my belly doesn't keep growing up until September like yours will!

You know...@MServant   and @catlover19   There was a t.v. program I once saw, and they documented cases in which the husbands of pregnant wives also consistently gained weight during the pregnancy, and then lost it afterwards.  The men had a harder time losing the weight.....lol.   (one of our friends told me this was true and showed us his pot belly...lol....it was cute)

Congrats on the new house...@catlover19   It sounds great. And now they have all those new paints without the harsh smells or volatile organic compounds (No VOC's paint)  so decorating the place should be fun.

Is the backyard open then...like a farmhouse,  or do they just not have a fence up, yet?

I hate painting, too.  I don't like all the prep work, and I really have to paint some rooms this year, like the bedroom, but choosing colours is also difficult for me.  I like the warm yellow colours, but my bedroom is light blue.   Someone told me to just choose neutrals and hang a lot of paintings or pictures, but I don't know.

Maybe for the backyard you can get one of those plastic roll fences and just sink a few posts.  That way you can roll up the fence and move it later.  Or if the landlord is good, he may just agree to plant some shrubs or something, that way creating a natural border and privacy.  Who knows, in time you will see.

It is good that he will be doing the painting....that is a bonus.

When you mentioned on a previous post that both you and your neighbour will be packing, and taking breaks...I had to smile,  because packing is difficult for anyone, even when you are not pregnant....but the image was cute.

Before you pack, are you the type to get rid of a lot of stuff?  Say, things you do not need, so you don't have to move them?

We are going to start going through stuff soon so we don't move things we don't need. If I find out next week I am having a boy, I have 5 big totes of girls clothes to get rid of too. I'm not going to start buying baby stuff until after the move unless I get good deals, that way I don't have to pack/move it all.

Thanks to whoever blocked out the address on the picture. I didn't even think of that when I posted the picture. Baby brain strikes again.

Do you get to pick out the colours for Aimee's room, or will it also be white or neutral, because I know that mostly places are white, so it makes it look brighter, bigger and clean?

Is there any furniture that you will have to get after?

Or does the baby have all the furniture stuff?

( I may be asking too many questions but its because I love home renovations, and the baby stuff is a bonus....so super cool)  Then when I talk with my friend who has a four year old, I don't sound so lost...lol)

Lovely looking house and area, plenty space and greenery around.    Timing after the scan is really handy too, to avoid moving things unnecessarily.
Nice that all the decorating will be done for you before you move in.  I love decorating but it is exhausting and expensive even if you don't have kids to look after, a pregnancy, and a mountain of moving in to do.   Wow, all that sorting and sifting through stuff before the move, I hope it brings back some fun and happy memories, and Aimee is a willing 'helper'.

Here's a couple more that I loved...

Honestly, ..@catlover19....I don't think that it matters what kind of outfit Aimee is in....you could put her in overalls and construction tops, and she would still look cute.

It would be hard to choose a favourite from those three photos, the second one is colourful, so I will go with that, but the third one's smile just melts you
.....speaking of which.....I have to go post on the "what made you smile today" thread....so thanks...

Couldn't agree more @cat nap.   Aimee really is the cutest little bug.
I think her smile could lift my spirits any time no matter how down or frustrated I was feeling.  Mind you, I wish I could be a fly on your wall when she's helping you with that 'sorting out'.
I predict you are going to be moving house with a lot of 'stuff'
