My mother's 100th birthday

I just got back from a weekend with the family, celebrating my mother's 100th birthday. We all had a fabulous time, in some cases a reunion with people who hadn't seen each other in 20 years! Here are some pix:

My mother enjoying her champagne. She has just opened her birthday card from the Queen - something that everyone in Britain gets on their 100th birthday. And no, the Queen did not send her the badge she is wearing!


I am the person helping her cut the cake - I do not know why my mouth is open - maybe I was concentrating too hard! You can see the bunting I made in the background.

Over here, you can request a card from the President starting at age 80, I think.  My Dad just turned 90, but I didn't request a card from our current President because my father doesn't like him   Maybe when he turns 100, he'll like whoever is in office then

I didn't know you could request a card. My mom's ok with the current Prez, but she'd be offended at the waste of taxpayer $$ for sending out cards! :lol3:

happy Birthday to your Mum. She looks amazing!! A wonderful reason for a reunion. We also get a letter from the Queen in Australia. I love the royals so I'm hanging in there for my letter!! I hope I look as good as your Mum! She looks as though she has a great quality of life too.

Oh I almost missed this post!  That bunting turned out beautifully!  Your mother really does not look 100!  I'm so glad that everything turned out so nicely!
