My cat Squeakers is 15 years old, diabetic and, of course, is getting a bit slower. He is under a vets care, so I know he is healthy for his age.  He still jumps onto the couch and has a normal appetite. My question is, I would like to supplement his food (diabetic crunchy/canned) with something to help aches. But there are so many over the counter items, I'm not sure which would be the best for him. Do you have any recommendations?

You might ask the vet for a recommendation, or get on the internet, like on the pet care section of Amazon, and look at the recommendations there, I've found them to be really helpful in trying to pick something. Good luck, and post back if you find something that works!

My old guy got Cosequin, which DID seem to help.  I've also heard that Dasequin helps, which is a bit stronger than Cosequin.  Krill Oil is purported to be good for arthritis too, but with that, you might need to start giving it to your cat slowly.  Some cats don't like the taste of it.  Here's the one some of us use:     It's kind of hard to open the capsule, but it's doable. I just slit it open at the seam and squeeze the heck out of it
onto their food.

Thank you so much. I have heard about Cosequin, but I wasn't sure if it was just hype or not. But it seems to be what everyone is recommending. I will have to give it a try.
