Before I start, it has nothing to do with religion or whatever ! It is purely personal. In 1993, my landlord ( who didn't allow cats), knew we were moving, and asked if we could take in a cat that her friend had, the friend had inside dogs and kept the cat outside
. Kitty was getting on the husbands vintage car, so he told her to get rid of it or he would.
. Naturally we said "yes", and in April of 1993, Miss Kitty came to live with us. All went well until March of 1997, when we came home from DH dad's funeral, to find her in respritory distress ( just like his dad had been just before he died). The vet told us that she had the cat form of congestive heart failure, and gave us meds to give her daily. We loved her and medicated her daily from March until Oct. 30, when we came home from the hubby's birthday dinner to find her in pretty bad shape. So I took her to the vet Halloween morning and let him put her to sleep. To this day I really don't care for Halloween, it just reminds me of her. Someday I'll forget, but I'm like an elephant in two ways 1) I'm fat, and 2) I don't forget the things that I really need to forget ! Thanks for letting me get this off my chest this morning!

I'm sorry about Miss Kitty. It's awful when sad things happen on special days, and Holidays. I know I lost my mother on my Birthday, and one of my best friends on Thanksgiving Day.

I hope you can once again have fun on Halloween. I know that I am able to enjoy my Birthday, now.

Hey Cindy,

This post is more appropriate in our Crossing the Bridge Forum. These type of anniversaries are very hard to get through and having them fall on a holiday, no matter what holiday they are can make it all the harder. It is amazing how much cats affect our lives and how much their passing from it affects us years and years down the road.
