My pregnant cat is very restless and affectionate this morning and has just been to her litter tray and had what looked like a wee but was actually diarrhea - there was lots of it, lots. I am very worried about her. Is this normal?

It is not normal.  The question is what is the cause?  Has her diet changed in any way recently?  Do you know how close she is to giving birth? It may be an isolated event, but unlikely.  If the next stool is normal then you can probably just watch and wait, but if it recurs then i would suggest a stool sample and a possible vet visit if she is up for it.

Let's see what others have to say.

Lola is due in next 7 days and this morning had a similar upset tum, she still eating and drinking fine, I think it is just a sign of her system having a little clear out, good luck, can't wait for our babies, hope all stay safe and well

sometimes, they have a diarrhea shortly before the delivery.  a way for the body to clean off excessive load, to not soil as much during the labor and delivery.

but otherwise,  such a diarrhea in a high preg isnt good, so beware...

Also, get home glucose sugar (brand name may be Dextrose) and  minerale kitchen salt, so you can make a home made pedialyte if need be.

Please continue to report and ask questions.

Good luck!

I did some research and there is some to support the idea that as mild contractions begin that diarrhea is the result, see this link: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100820025633AA8YDJh

So maybe its not so worrisome but if she is going into labor then she may be a bit early.

my pregnant feral mom ma cat has the very same symptoms every one says take a stool sample and the cat to the vet, like I have 100 dollar bills to throw out.     the vet is just going to tell you to keep bringing her in until he figures it out which might be never mean while your out hundreds of dollars

How long has your cat had diarrhea? What is the color? Does it smell bad?

Has she been de-wormed?

What is she eating?

Ops forgot this sorry!
She's had it for two days now and its a lightish brown color
It doesn't really smell bad apart from how her normal poop smells
Has she been de-wormed?

What is she eating?

Try mixing the powder from a probiotic capsule into some wet chicken flavor cat food 2-3 times a day. This should help her gut.

Has she been de-wormed recently?

Clean her with a soft, damp wash cloth and let us know what the vet says.

Update :
I took her to the vet yesterday and the vet told me she has worms (tape worms and ganja or ambeia idk how to spell it) but I told her she's an outdoor cat as well the vet said she probably got sick with worms so she gave me meds to give her for three days but she said when the kittens are two weeks old they need to get their vaccines.
