Hi. Recently I found a small orange cat at a gas station near my house. She was sitting outside begging for food. She let me pet her a little & I lifted her by her scruff & notice she had nipples full of milk & they were wet. I feed her & once she was full I walked off some. She started headed towards a ditch & I followed her at a difference. She crawled under a fence after watching & looking around a lot. The other side of the fence was thick with thorns and I couldn't see much. I've been feeding her a few days now. The girl at the gas station said the cat is under a year. This is her second litter. She believes they were born around March 18th. I really want to take her in & foster her and the kittens. But so far I haven't spotted the kittens. The girl said with her first litter she gave birth under the shed by the gas station and would let the kittens sun on the porch. But people snatched the babies up. Any advice? When will the kittens start explorong some with mom? What times of the day do you think they'll come out? Etc.

The ideal were if you could catch them NOW, when they cant run from you, and are easy to foster.

Mom will probably just follow after them and you.

Mom will probably show up [with her kittens] to you in a couple of weeks, as you are the food provider.  So you will get your chance again.  But they will be more shy, and more difficult for easy fostering...

Look also at our Stray and Ferales forum, this question recurrs now and then, also at this moment we have a couple of threads on this.

Tx for caring, and please continue with reports and questions!

Once they're at an age where they can get up and walk around they'll follow her to the food (from my experience). What I did was wait til they were eating and meow and casually pet them. It worked well for me and we now have the momma cat and her kittens as pets... And four new kittens because one gave us a huge surprise and gave birth yesterday!

Hopefully I'll see her & she'll have the babies out too. I'll snatch em up if possible.

Yes :( I had literally JUST set up an appt for her to be spayed and then out of nowhere she has kittens. Kicking myself for not getting to it in time.
