My uti over actie thyroid cat was treated for bacteria infection with a anti biotic shot

i took her back to the vet they said blood work is good thyroid good but they found bacteria again in her bladder? The anti biotic shot did not do it, so i have her on pills

Is the vet missing something? Or put her on the wrong anti biotic? Or are pills better?

It sounds like a culture and sensitivity was not done. This determines the specific bacteria and the most effective antibiotic. Without that test, giving antibiotics are really a shot in the dark. Which one was given first, and which is being given now?

What are the names of the antibiotics? Look on your vet receipt. It should list meds given as well as any tests run.

Every bladder infection is different.  The antibiotic injection they used is probably Convenia which in my experience doesn't always work for UTI's.  I have a cat who has been on 3 rounds of different antibiotics and still not better.  We did the culture (they send it off to a lab and see exactly what type of bacteria is growing as well as test it against different antibiotics to determine the best antibiotic to use against it) and she still has it.  So I am going the more natural route with D Mannose and Corn Silk to help ease her, as well as antibiotics.  I work for a vet and we always have people return for a followup urinalysis about 5 days after they finish antibiotics to make sure it got it.
