Please help I've had my baby for over a year and she still dosn't trust me and acts scared of me and my hubby. We don't know why it breaks our heart, she is our princess and we love her more than anything. Why is she scared when we walk near her she runs away??

Does she ever let you pet or touch her? How old is she? Do you know her history before you got her?

she is 1 years old. she just turned 1. we've had her since she was a baby...about six weeks old. She loves us but she acts scared when we walk toward her and of course when we have company over she hides lol. She acts like she don't trust people. We got her from a free kitten ad on craigslist

Are you sure she's not just acting frisky? My almost 1 year old cat does a lil feak out and runs away when I walk toward him sometimes. He looks scared but he's just in ultra hyper mode though.
could it be that your girl is scared of your height (compared to her height)? some cats are uncomfortable to varying degrees when their people are standing/walking because we're so much taller and so kind of tower over them. is she scared of you/your husband when you're sitting down or laying down?

it sounds like maybe she's scared of the height of humans, or possibly scared of being accidentally having her tail or paws stepped on. i think it happens (accidentally) to most cats that they have their tail or paw stepped on by a human. of course, we all feel just horrible when it happens but sometimes we just don't see them while we're doing something.
and -- i think that if your girl was scared of you/your husband, then she'd be scared all the time and not just when you're standing/walking.
