Is there a way to force my cat to stop puking?

With some kind of medication or something?

My cat is very old.  She has IBS. She is intolerant to chicken, turkey, beef, pork and fish proteins.  I take great care to rotate out the last few proteins she CAN eat to avoid intolerance to them as well.   This is not a matter of "Finding what works" for her.  Nothing is ever going to.

Its like my Granpa.  Toward the end, he couldn't keep anything down. It wasn't anything that could be treated - he wasn't sick, he was just OLD -  so the doctor gave him a pill that basically turned his vomit reflex off.  Is there anything like that for cats?

Cerenia is the anti-emetic that works for most, but not all, cats. Sometimes Pepcid will work if excess stomach acid is the issue. I would discuss both with your vet. Is she being treated at all for the IBS/IBD? A low dose of prednisolone (a steroid) is usually prescribed for IBD, and may help with the vomiting and keep her more comfortable.

Thank you Vball.  She's been on pred pretty much her whole life. >_<   I'll definitely talk it over with Dr, Mouser  (her vet). I just wanted to know if something like that would even be possible before setting up another costly appointment. :)
