So yesterday i adopted a 2 year old female ragdoll named Raya from the RSPCA, she's very gentle and a little anxious, she's mostly been hiding in my room and gets along well with my 13 year old dog, suby (who is scared of literally everything), however, my 6 year old abyssinian named jezebel who is the queen of the house is not very happy at all.

i'm still working with them on meeting face to face (with Jezebel and Raya taking turns being in the cat carrier) and Jezebel doesnt react too dramatically anymore, she doesnt puff up but makes growling or hissing noises at Raya, who just shrinks back. once or twice jezebel would go up to the cage and they would sniff each other's noses in a neutral position, when that happens i can hear angels singing in the background
. but then jezebel would walk away and act as if it never happened.

If anyone has had any experience with introducing two cats, I would love to hear your tips and tricks (please

Hi there and congrats on the new cat!!

My favorite articles on cat introductions are below.  What I like most about the ASPCA article is that it progresses from complete separation at first to a visual introduction before they meet face to face.  A very step by step measured approach that gives both cats, especially the resident cat with multiple graded steps towards acceptance without pushing them too far too quickly is a great way to go.

My advice, don't pay lip service to the advice linked below.  Really go for it, take your time introducing them and don't go faster than either cat is comfortable with.  You want lifetime friendships to blossom, not a lifetime of wariness or displeasure.

The point of a measured introduction is to incrementally increase the line of stress for the cat, gently, and as it gets used to the new level, raise it again until you are at a full introduction with that last step being no more stressful than the first step.
