I guess I'll start. I have two kitties, Coco and Tink.

Coco is six years old and Tink is four years old. I met Coco at the shelter when I was taking a tour of their new building. I just had to adopt her!

They both love to play! Their favorite toys to play with are feather wands and pom-poms. I got a new tunnel for them and they love to roll around in it and chase each other playfully through it.

Wow, these are nice photos.

I have to get my old photos off the old computer and then post them.  So in the meantime, i will ask you some questions.

Why were you taking a tour of the shelter?  Did you not plan on getting a cat that day?

Which cat causes you more time to say....."hey....what are you doing?"...lol

Well, the shelter was moving into a new building and so I just wanted to check it out. No, I was not planning on getting a cat that day. Tink is the cat who causes me to say "Hey, what are you doing?" because either she's chewing on plastic, stuck in a room (which I have no idea how she gets into...lol), in the trash can or in the recycling bin.

Those are the best, when you don't plan on something and you do it anyway.

Wow, Tink was lucky, but I think it was meant to be.

So she is the troublemaker?....lol.....stuck in a room or sleeping in recycling bins.
....hilarious.

My Spotty is 14 yrs old, and maybe not as unpredictable.....what am I saying.....he still finds new places to sleep.....so I have to go and play hide and seek.  Also, he likes to cause a little fun chaos with the 2yr old labrador retriever.....just right in front of me,  so I stop whatever I am doing, and have to referee.  They get along well though....so I am lucky.

Oh, cats are the best! What is really funny is that I used to have a cat named Dante that would sleep in recycling bins and eat weird things, which is what Tink does, too! So it's like there's a little bit of Dante in Tink.

So I guess it's just us talking again, huh? lol
I think I'll just have to invite our friends over...

Yes, you are right, we'll just have to mention this thread out there, and get more people on board.  Hopefully not scare anyone off....with silly cat stories....Who doesn't like a funny cat story?.  and like you said, sad ones,  short ones, long ones.

I just like hearing how everyone first met?   That to me is the best.

Today is a good Mouse day, for the first time ever he jumped up on to me when I was relaxing in a chair, spread out over my body and arms and head butted me for kisses - no lap top in sight.   He stayed on my lap, snuggling in for about 5 minutes.  Talk about happy, I couldn't believe it.
He's only ever done this when I'm on the computer before, to get me to stop typing and when I do he instantly jumps off.

So I take it that you will, on another day, tell us @MServant    how Mouse, actually lost 3 of his nine lives.  Only if Mouse allows it, of course.....lol

Nice photo,  Btw.   Caught him in the act.  Or may be Mouse was just emptying the trash, for you?
....lol

Nice story.
So he likes to empty trash cans, eh? Maybe you could give him a garbage bag and he could empty it and take it out for you. lol
 Love the picture.

I wish we could teach the cats to take out the trash...lol.  You know @MissSweetKitty   I don't see why we can't teach them to empty the litterboxes, too.  Then they can get their own food, open the can, pour themselves a drink.  I would just lie back and relax.

Hey, @MissSweetKitty   where did you come up with the name Dante?  That is such a good name for a cat, very intellectual and strong.

I don't think I see any similarities in my older previous cats and Spotty.  They were all so different.

When did Dante and Cora pass on?  If you don't mind saying.

@cat nap  there is no way Mouse is going to take the trash out - he tells me to tidy up never mind take the stuff out of his home! He does not make mess as far as he is concerned, only me and it's my job to clean it up...

@MissSweetKitty  if Mouse emptied the trash it would be on to my floor to find things to play with and then it would be my job to put away everything he didn't want, all over again.  He does not like mess - as above.  If you want kitties to show they can do this I am afraid your guys are going to have to be the ones to do it.

One of my tabby girls could get her self a drink, unfortunately, as I found out when I got in from work on a couple of occasions.  The first time was when I had a pack of 6 x 1 litre long life milk cartons on top of my tall fridge freezer.  She managed to do a vertical leap from nowhere to get up to them - chewed her way round the top of every single carton so they were all leaking, and then left them to drain on to the top of the fridge and on to the floor.....  no milk for me for a while.  She was about 6 months at the time.  A couple of years later I had my kitchen re-fitted and a new sink and new cross bar taps.  I came in from work to a running tap and water pinged all over the floor....  she had obviously squirmed about to get the cross head tap to turn and make the water run - then sat stuck her front paws in to the running water to make a mess all over the floor.  Nice.   I had to tie a towel around the taps for about 3 weeks to stop her doing it.   Her sister went for food - she broke in to the under sink cupboard I kept their box of dry cat food in and chewed her way in to a new box of food.  Ate what she wanted and left the box in tatters and remaining buiscuits all over the cupboard and floor.  Mouse's biscuits are in little metal tins and in a heavy duty container that he has yet to find a way in to.

Any other little food and drink menaces out there?

Yeah, that would be the life.

Actually, I didn't name him Dante. I adopted him and decided not to name him something different. I liked his name the way it was.

Dante passed away about two years ago and Cora passed away about four months ago. They were best friends. They would hug and snuggle with each other.
RIP, sweeties
 I love you.

Ahh, sorry @MissSweetKitty for your loss.  For some reason, I thought both passed away some time ago, but Cora's is still kind of recent.  It probably does not matter when a cat dies, because you miss them anyhow.

I am glad you got the next generation, in Tink and Coco.  I always think that the new ones give us just as much love and joy,  and that things that happen, are just meant to be that way.  Who knows.  Run with the wind, Cora and Dante, and know you'll all see everyone some day.

They might be off on another journey somewhere else, but now with Tink and Coca, you'll have more new adventures.

[email protected] have to say it, so you will have to forgive me.....but "you can't cry over spilt milk"....lol

(I am so sorry....its that "pictionary thread"...that I cannot get out of my head.....so this phrase kinda popped up)

You seem to have the most smartest cats over there.  Maybe something is in that water, then.

No way would mine be able to turn taps, break into bags and cupboards.

I am a little disappointed in my Spotty right now.  He did bring me "mice presents while hunting"...so I will give him that.  And he does know how to make the dog do things, like get out of his way.

When he was younger, he would try to bring friends over, (he used to be an outdoor cat).  We did not want more cats then, so had to close the door on his friend)

I don't want to teach them destructive things, so maybe I'll just stick to giving him his water....for now.

Aw, poor Spotty, not allowed friends round or to play destructive games!  Does he not get to chew up bills, or steel money off house guests or anything?  He sounds very well behaved your cat.  If Tink and Coco don't get up to no good I'm going to have to start worrying about Mouse's antics.  Up till now I thought most cats got up to mischief on a daily basis.

I'm not sure what Mouse's adventures invovled today as I was out in the afternoon, but this morning he was pretty much bouncing off the walls until he caught sight of a tiny little spider on the sheepskin rug under his cat tree and decided he should observe and stalk it for a while.  He did not have the look of a cat that was going to sleep peacefully for 4 hours...

Stealing money would be a good trick to teach Spotty.  After seeing my visa bill today,  and going...ahhh.
...destroying the bill with his cat claws (shredding)...seems almost pleasant.

I am not sure about @MissSweetKitty 's Tink and Coco.....they do really look well behaved in the photos.
We will have to wait and see.  Just because Tink likes to sleep in the recycling box.....does not mean he's wild....could just say he is into the environment and makes sure MissSweetKitty, does not forget to empty the box.

This sounds like your Mouse, telling you to take care of your own trash....very good to have a fur friend tell you....since you cannot possibly criticize him....lol.

Tell me if it is raining today??  April 21st.

Tell me if it is raining today??  April 21st.

I was thinking maybe sleeping in the recycling might indicate paper shredding tendencies?

Today Mouse spent much of his day in my bed if the evidence is anything to go by:  deep, round, Mouse sized indent in my duvet with added padding of two fleece blankets to build up the sides, one to the top of the bed and one to the bottom!  If he'd had another fleece there he could have made himself a completely enclosed fleecy den.
He's taken possession of  my new house guests too - rubbing himself on their legs when in the kitchen (this may be because they've fed him the odd fish snack or two with my consent) and rolling around on his back on the floor showing off to them both.   He got to explore the room they are sleeping in yesterday as it was tidy enough to be safe for him.  He was very happy as they had moved his scratching post to a prime location where he can show off easily  - it has been hidden behind the sofa bed in recent months.

No rain here today.
Misty and cold this morning then blue skies for the rest of the day / evening.  My brother called me earlier on and they had a nasty thunder storm where he is.

I never linked sleeping in the recycling to paper shredding....lol....so true.

Ah, so Mouse needed one more fleece to make that den?....lol.....I guess this will have to be another day....it does sound like the perfect place to sleep....."an enclosed fleecy den"....

And Mouse is marking his humans, there you go again.....such a smart cat....Spotty does not do this...Why?

Today, Spotty was actually playing tag with me.  I could not believe it, but I had to go out.  So the game ended too soon.  Will try again tomorrow.   (He was "it"....last....lol)

So it did not rain where you are, but it did rain somewhere else....lol.....That does not prove my theory one bit.

If Mouse had killed that spider, earlier, yesterday, it should have been pouring today....So maybe the spider was set free.  Stranger things have happened.

He probably made friends with it and when not sleeping today went off in search of more chums for it to play with...  spiders, mice, flies.  My home will be full of undesireable critters if Mouse doesn't learn that he's meant to kill or chase them away not just play.  The bug and rodent residence with Mouse welcoming them as they come in.  Eeeew.

I'm envious now, I haven't had a good game of tag / hide and seek / hunt the human for a couple of weeks now.

Just thought, best if I check that fleecy den before I get in to my bed tonight in case Mouse took any of his new found friends in there when I wasn't around to see what he was up to.....
